A square loop of wire consisting of a single turn is perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field. The square loop is then re-forme

d into a circular loop, which also consists of a single turn and is also perpendicular to the same magnetic field. The magnetic flux that passes through the square loop is 6.68 × 10-3 Wb. What is the flux that passes through the circular loop?

Answer:

0.0085 Wb

Explanation:

a = Side of square

r = Radius of circle

\phi_s = Magnetic flux through square loop = 6.68\times 10^{-3}\ Wb

Magnetic flux is given by

\phi=BA

For square

\phi_{s}=Ba^2

The length of the square will be equal to the circumference of the circle

4a=2\pi r\\\Rightarrow r=\frac{2a}{\pi}

For circle

\phi_{c}=B\pi r^2\\\Rightarrow \phi_{c}=B\pi \left(\frac{2a}{\pi}\right)^2\\\Rightarrow \phi_c=Ba^2\frac{4}{\pi}\\\Rightarrow \phi_c=\phi_s\frac{4}{\pi}\\\Rightarrow \phi_c=6.68\times 10^{-3}\frac{4}{\pi}\\\Rightarrow \phi_c=0.0085\ Wb

The flux that passes through the circular loop is 0.0085 Wb

Dry air is primarily composed of nitrogen. In a classroom demonstration, a physics instructor pours 3.6 L of liquid nitrogen int
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

The  value is  V_n  =  2.2498 \  m^3

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The volume of  liquid nitrogen is  V_n  =  3.6 \  L=  3.6 *10^{-3} \ m^3

   The  density of  nitrogen at gaseous form   is  \rho_n = 1.2929 \ kg/m^3  =  The dry air at sea level

Generally the density of nitrogen at liquid form is

         \rho _l = 808 \  kg/m^3

And this is mathematically represented as

      \rho_l  =  \frac{m}{V_l }

=>   m  =  \rho_l  *  V_l

Now the density of  gaseous nitrogen is

       \rho_n  =  \frac{m}{V_n }

=>   m  =  \rho_n  *  V_n

Given that the mass is constant

       \rho_n  *  V_n  =   \rho_l  *  V_l

        1.2929*  V_n  =   808  *  3.6*10^{-3}

=>   V_n  =  2.2498 \  m^3

How do I do this problem?
Aleks04 [339]

Use Charles Law: V1/T1 = V2/T2

0.30 m^3/27 C = V2/127 C

27V2 = 127 * 0.3

V2= 38.1/27 = 1.4 m^3

A wire of resistance R is cut into ten equal parts which are then connected in parallel. The equivalent resistance of the combin
Greeley [361]

Answer:

<em>The equivalent resistance of the combination is R/100</em>

Explanation:

<u>Electric Resistance</u>

The electric resistance of a wire is directly proportional to its length. If a wire of resistance R is cut into 10 equal parts, then each part has a resistance of R/10.

Parallel connection of resistances: If R1, R2, R3,...., Rn are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is calculated as follows:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{1}{R_1}+\frac{1}{R_2}+\frac{1}{R_3}+...+\frac{1}{R_n}

If we have 10 wires of resistance R/10 each and connect them in parallel, the equivalent resistance is:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{1}{R/10}+\frac{1}{R/10}+\frac{1}{R/10}...+\frac{1}{R/10}

This sum is repeated 10 times. Operating each term:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=\frac{10}{R}+\frac{10}{R}+\frac{10}{R}+...+\frac{10}{R}

All the terms have the same denominator, thus:

\displaystyle \frac{1}{R_e}=10\frac{10}{R}=\frac{100}{R}

Taking the reciprocals:

R_e=R/100

The equivalent resistance of the combination is R/100
