Answer:

Explanation:

Sun is the only source of heat on earth. Heat from sun first passes through atmosphere and then fall on the earth's surface i.e. land and ocean.

Condensation, Radiation, Convection, Conduction transfers heat within the atmosphere and ocean such as rise of hot air, cooling and then falling is the example of convection whereas, heat from fire is the example of radiation.

A runner completes the 200-meter dash with a time of 19.80 seconds. What was the runner's average speed in miles per hour?
andriy [413]

Answer:

v = 22.54 mph.

Explanation:

Given that,

Distance moved, d = 200 m

Time, t = 19.8 s

We need to find the runner's average speed.

We know that,

1 mile = 1609.34 m

200 m = 0.124 miles

19.8 seconds = 0.0055 h

So,

Speed = distance/time

v=\dfrac{0.124}{0.0055}\\\\v=22.54\ mph

So, the runner's average speed is 22.54 mph.

A block of mass 200g is oscillating on the end of a horizontal spring of spring constant 100 N/m and natural length 12 cm. When
malfutka [58]

In order to determine the acceleration of the block, use the following formula:

F=ma

Moreover, remind that for an object attached to a spring the magnitude of the force acting over a mass is given by:

F=kx

Then, you have:

ma=kx

by solving for a, you obtain:

a=\frac{kx}{m}

In this case, you have:

k: spring constant = 100N/m

m: mass of the block = 200g = 0.2kg

x: distance related to the equilibrium position = 14cm - 12cm = 2cm = 0.02m

Replace the previous values of the parameters into the expression for a:

a=\frac{(\frac{100N}{m})(0.02m)}{0.2\operatorname{kg}}=10\frac{m}{s^2}

Hence, the acceleration of the block is 10 m/s^2

In 1935, a French destroyer, La Terrible, attained one of the fastest speeds for any standard warship. Suppose it took 3.0 min a
REY [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

From newton's equation of motion of uniform acceleration

v = u + at

where v is final velocity , u is initial velocity , a is acceleration and time is t .

putting the values

v  =  0 + .5 x 3 x 60  ( time in second = 3 x 60 s )

= 90 m /s

So  , final velocity is 90 m /s .
