Li2O.. Because Li is +1 and O2 is -2

Explanation:

Atomic number of lithium is 3 with electronic distribution 2, 1. So, to attain stability lithium loses 1 electron and becomes Li^{+} ion.

Atomic number of oxygen is 8 with electronic distribution 2, 6. So, to attain stability oxygen needs to gain two electrons and thus becomes O^{2-} ion.

Therefore, a neutral molecule will have charges balanced between the combining atoms.

Hence, when lithium and oxygen atoms combine together then they will form compound Li_{2}O.

Magnesium has three naturally occurring isotopes with masses of 23.99 amu, 24.99 amu, and 25.98 amu and natural abundances of 78
mihalych1998 [28]

Answer:24.31

Explanation:Contribution made by isotope of mass 23.99= 23.99×78.99=1894.97

Contribution made by isotope of mass 24.99=24.99×10.00=249.9

Contribution made by isotope of mass 25.98=25.98×11.01=286.04

Total contribution=1894.97+249.9+286.04=2430.91

Average mass=2430.91÷100

=24.31

Fill in the blanks with appropriate options given in below:
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

1) -COOH

2) -NH2

3) hydrogen bonds

4) dispersion forces

5) -CH3

6) hydrogen bonds

7) negative

8) negative

9) positive

Explanation:

Alanine has a -COOH and a -NH2 group available to form hydrogen bonds with water molecules.

Although there are some potential dispersion forces between the terminal -CH3 group of alanine and hexane molecules, we expect the hydrogen bonds between alanine and water to be stronger.

Stronger intermolecular attractive forces between alanine and water lead to a more negative ΔHmix and more negative (smaller positive) ΔHsoln for water than for hexane.
