Resistor because a conductor needs to be a good conductor of electricity and an insulator needs to not conduct electricity at all. Resistors control the flow of current by not being good conductors but they need to conduct somewhat

A wave travelling along the positive x-axis side with a
andrew11 [14]

Explanation:

The frequency is given to be f = 8 Hz.

Period is the inverse of frequency.

T = 1/f = 0.125 s

Velocity is wavelength times frequency.

v = λf = (0.40 m) (8 Hz) = 3.2 m/s

The wave travels 3.2 meters every second.

Where must an object be placed to form an image 30.0 cm from a diverging lens with a focal length of 43.0 cm?
Schach [20]
Using lens equation;

1/o + 1/i = 1/f; where o = Object distance, i = image distance (normally negative), f = focal length (normally negative)

Substituting;

1/o + 1/-30 = 1/-43 => 1/o = -1/43 + 1/30 = 0.01 => o = 1/0.01 = 99.23 cm

Therefore, the object should be place 99.23 cm from the lens.

How is the Maunder minimum related to climate?
Alexxandr [17]

Maunder minimum is related to climate due to the unusually low sunspot activity correlates to unusually cold climatic events. The answer is letter A. It happened around 1645 and 1715 and also coincided with the phenomena ‘Little Ice Age’ (1500 – 1850) in the Northern Hemisphere.

g We saw in class that in a pendulum the string does no work. We also saw that the normal force does no work on an object slidin
Ymorist [56]

Answer:

From question (a) and (b) the pendulum motion is perpendicular to the force so the normal force will do no work and the tension in the string of the pendulum will not work

       i.e Normal \ Force(N)  = mg cos \theta

And \theta = 90 so

           N = 0

c

An example will be a where a stone is attached to the end of a string and is made to move in a circular motion while keeping the other end of the string in a fixed position

d

A dog walking along a surface which has friction, here the frictional force would acting in the direction of the motion and this would do positive work

action and reaction are equal in magnitude and opposite in direction then why do they not balance each other.
NeX [460]

Answer:

Newton’s third law of motion states that every action has an equal and opposite reaction. This indicates that forces always act in pairs. Reaction forces are equal and opposite, but they are not balanced forces because they act on different objects so they don’t cancel each other out.
