Okay so you want to split 42 cards into 6 groups

1.5____ 2.5___ 3.5__ 4.5___ 5.5 __6.5
=30
We want to subtract 30 from 42 to see what we have left to divide
42-30=12

What number can go into 6 and equal 12

So we want to add 3 + 5 to get are answer

Bruce is 4 times as old as Indy. 6 years ago, Bruce was 6 times as old as Indy. how old is bruce now?
goblinko [34]
4i = b
6(i-6) = b-6

6(i-6) = 4i - 6
6i - 36 = 4i - 6
2i - 36 = -6
2i = 30
i = 15 years old
b = 60 years old

Check:
15 * 4 = 60
9 * 6 = 54 :)
