8 0

Answer:

34 gram of FeO produced 8 gram of oxygen.

Explanation:

Given data:

Mass of FeO = 34 g

Mass of oxygen = ?

Solution;

Chemical equation:

2FeO → 2Fe + O₂

Number of moles of FeO:

Number of moles = mass/ molar mass

Number of moles = 34 g /71.8 g/mol

Number of moles = 0.5 mol

Now we will compare the moles of FeO with oxygen:

             FeO       :       O₂

                2         :        1

                0.5      :      1/2 × 0.5 = 0.25

Mass of oxygen:

Mass = number of moles × molar mass

Mass =  0.25 mol × 32 g/mol

Mass = 8 g

So 34 gram of FeO produced 8 gram of oxygen.

Indicate whether each of the following statements is correct or incorrect.1)Every Bronsted-Lowry acid is also a Lewis acid2)Ever
Hunter-Best [27]

Answer:

1) correct

2) incorrect

3) correct

4)incorrect

Explanation:

1) A Lewis acid is a substance that accepts a nonbonding pair of electrons.

A Bronsted-Lowry acid is a substance that donates a proton H⁺

Since the donation of a proton involves the acceptance of a pair of electrons, every Bronsted-Lowry acid is also a Lewis acid.

2)A Lewis acid not necessarily needs to have a proton to be donated.

3) Conjugated acids of weak bases are strong acids and conjugated acids of strong bases are weak acids.

4)K⁺ comes from a strong base, therefore is does not have an acidic behaviour.

Which substance is one that cannot be separated or broken down into simpler substances by chemical means? (Element, pure)
Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

gold wire (Au)

Explanation:

A substance that cannot be separated or broken down into simpler substances by chemical means is an element.

Between the given options only gold wire is an element, Au.

A way of knowing that it is an element is noticing that its formula is a single symbol which corresponds to an element found in the periodic table, unlike a combination of said symbols (like NaCl or H₂O).
