A light ray is incident on a plane surface separating two transparent media of refractive indices of 1.65 and 1.35. If the incid

ent angle is 35º and the light ray originates in the medium of higher refractive index. (a) Compute the angle of refraction. (b) Repeat part (a), assuming that the light ray originates in the medium of lower refractive index.

Explanation:

Given

Refractive Index (n_1)=1.65

n_2=1.35

angle of incident=35 ^{\circ}

Light originates in the medium of higher refractive index

Let \theta _1 and \theta _2be the incident and refraction angles respectively  thus according to snell's law

n_1sin\theta _1=n_2sin\theta _2

1.65\times sin35=1.35\times sin\theta _2

sin\theta _2=0.701

\theta _2=44.507^{\circ}

(b)Ray originates from lighter medium

1.35\times sin35=1.65\times sin\theta _2'

sin\theta _2'=0.469

\theta _2'=27.96\approx 28^{\circ}

The 26-kg sphere c is released from rest when θ = 0∘ and the tension in the spring is f = 100 n
aleksandr82 [10.1K]
You are given the mass of a sphere that is 26 kg sphere and it is released from rest when θ = 0°. You are also given the force of the spring that is F = 100 N. You are asked to find the tension of the spring. Imagine that the sphere is connected to a spring. The spring exerts a tension and the spring exerts gravitational pull. This will follow the second law of newton.

T - F = ma
T = ma + F
T = 26kg (9.81m/s²) + 100 N
T = 355.06 N

Which term describes the number of joules used per second by a circuit?
jasenka [17]

Answer:

B) Power

Explanation:

The power is defined by the following equation:

P = W / t

where:

W = work = Force * Distance = [Newton] * [meter]

t = time = seconds

The units for work are give en Newton per second, which is equal to Joules

And for power the unit used commonly is Watts, therefore:

Watts = (Joule/second)

Olivia wants to find out whether a substance will fluoresce. She says she should put it in a microwave oven. Do you agree with h
andreyandreev [35.5K]
Disagree.
Fluoresce objects will only glow when put under actual Ultraviolet light. This is due to the molecules becoming excited by the ultraviolet radiation.

Microwaves give micro-waves that are present in another spectrum of wave length and will not be able to fluoresce the molecules. If it’s not “ultra violet “.... it’s not going to glow.
