Answer:

Timmy is 1 meters away from the center.

Explanation:

Given:

Distance of Suzie from center = 2 m

Weight of Suzie = 400 N

Weight of Timmy = 800 N

The see saw is balanced

To find the distance of Timmy from the center.

Solution:

Since the see saw is balanced,

So, <em>the sum of clockwise moment = Sum of anticlockwise moments </em>

Moment is given by:

⇒ Force\times Perpendicular\ distance\ from\ the\ center

Let Suzies have moment in clockwise direction.

Moment of Suzie would be = 400\ N \times 2\ m= 800\ Nm

Timmy would have moment in anticlockwise direction.

Let Timmy be l meters away from center

Moment of Timmy would be = 800\ N\times l\ m=800l\ Nm

Since, the see saw is balanced, the system is in equilibrium.

Thus, we have,

<em>Anticlockwise Moment = Clockwise moment</em>

800l=800

Dividing both sides by 800.

\frac{800l}{800}=\frac{800}{800}

l=1\ m

Thus, Timmy is 1 meters away from the center.

Which of these forms of radiation passes most easily through the disk of the Milky Way?
Rama09 [41]
<h2>Answer: 3 - infrared light</h2>

Explanation:

<u>There are certain areas of the Milky Way that cannot be observed using the visible range of the electromagnetic spectrum</u> (this includes blue light and red light). This is because these areas are covered or hidden behind columns of interstellar dust and dark matter.

However, using infrared light and sometimes radio waves, it is possible to observe the galaxy better, because this light manages to pass through all that interstellar dust.

A 240 m long segment of wire is hanging between 2 transmission lines. What is the total magnetic force only (ignore gravitationa
Delvig [45]

Answer:

<em>7.2 N</em>

Explanation:

length of wire L  = 240 m

current I = 500 A

field strength B = 3 x 10^-5 T

magnetic force on a current carrying conductor F is given as

F = BILsin∅

The wires are perpendicular with field therefore sin∅ = sin 90° = 1

therefore,

F = BIL = 3 x 10^-5 X 500 X 240 = 3.6 N

<em>If the wire exists between this two transmission lines, then total magnetic force on the wire = 2 x 3.6 = 7.2 N</em>
