A spaceship is moving at 0.74 c (0.74 times the speed of light) with respect to the earth. An observer on the spaceship measures

the time interval between two events as 30 hrs. If the spaceship had been moving with a speed of 0.86 c with respect to the earth, what would the time interval between the events have been? Dt0.86 c = _____ hrs

Answer:

The time interval is 22.76 hr.

Explanation:

Given that,

Time = 30 hrs

Speed = 0.74c

We need to calculate the time interval measured in earth frame

Using formula of time dilation

\Delta t=\dfrac{\Delta t_{0}}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{v^2}{c^2}}}

Where, \Delta t = time interval measured in earth frame

\Delta t_{0}=proper time interval

Put the value into the formula

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{0.74c^2}{c^2}}}

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{\sqrt{1-(0.74)^2}}

\Delta t=\dfrac{30}{0.6726}

\Delta t=44.60\ hr

We need to calculate the proper time interval when the velocity is 0.86c

Using formula of time dilation

44.60=\dfrac{\Delta t_{0}}{\sqrt{1-\dfrac{0.86c^2}{c^2}}}

\Delta t_{0}=44.60\times\sqrt{1-(0.86)^2}

\Delta t_{0}=22.76\ hr

Hence, The time interval is 22.76 hr.

A car has the velocity of 2.35 after 4.67 it's velocity is 9.89 what is the average acceleration
kiruha [24]
Average acceleration  =  (change in speed) / (time for the change) .

Change in speed = (ending speed) - (beginning speed)

                       =  (9.89 miles/hour) - (2.35 yards/second)  = 26,839.2 ft/hr

Acceleration  =  (26,839.2 ft/hr) / (4.67 days)  =  2,873.58 inch/hour²

The density is 1.5 g/cm^3. the mass is 1500. what is the volume
Naddik [55]
The density of an object can be calculated using the formula Density = Mass/Volume. In this case however we are searching for the volume and must rearrange the formula so that we are solving for the volume. If you multiply both sides by volume and then divide both sides by mass you end up with the equation Volume = Mass/Density.

Volume = 1500g/1.5g/cm^3
Volume = 1000 cm^3

A car speeds over a hill past point A, as shown in the figure. What is the maximum speed the car can have at point A such that i
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

see explanations below

Explanation:

At the point when the car leaves the track, the reaction on the road is zero, meaning that the centrifugal force equals the gravitation force, namely

mv^2/r = mg

Solve for v in SI units

v^2 = gr = 9.81 m/s^2 * 14.2 m = 139.302 m^2/s^2

v = sqrt(139.302) = 11.8 m/s

Answer: at 11.8 m/s (26.4 mph) car will leave the track.
