1.44Ns

6.3m/s

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Mass of object = 230g = 0.23g

height of fall = 2m

Unknown:

Impulse = ?

velocity on impact = ?

Solution:

We are going to apply one of the equations of motions to solve this problem.

The most appropriate one is:

       V² = U² + 2gH

where V is the final velocity

U is the initial velocity

g is acceleration due to gravity as the body falls with aid of gravity = 9.8m/s²

  H is the height of fall

since the body was initially at rest, U = O

     V² = 2gH

      V = √2 x 9.8 x 2 = 6.3m/s

Impulse = mass x velocity  = 0.23 x 6.3 = 1.44Ns

A 110 V power line is protected by a 15 A fuse. What is the maximum number of 400 W lamps that can be simultaneously operated in
Nitella [24]

Answer:

Total number of lamps will be 4

Explanation:

We have given power of the lamp W = 400 watt

Potential difference across the lamp V=110 volt

We know that power is equal to P=VI

So 400=110\times I

I=3.636A

Total current is given 15 A

As it is given that lamps are connected in parallel so total current is the sum of current through each lamp

So number of lamp will be n=\frac{15}{3.636}=4.125

As the lamp can not be in negative

So total number of lamps will be 4

An airplane starts from rest and accelerates at a constant rate of 3.00 m/s2 for 30.0 s before leaving the ground. a. How far di
rosijanka [135]

The formula we can use in this case is:

d = v0t + 0.5 at^2

v = at + v0

where,

d = distance travelled

v0 = initial velocity = 0 since at rest

t = time travelled

a = acceleration

v = final velocity when it took off

a. d = 0 + 0.5 * 3 * 30^2

d = 1350 m

b. v = 3 * 30 + 0

v = 90 m/s
