The reason for this is that in almost all ionic compounds, there is an equivalent transfer and acceptance of the same number of electrons, whereby each transfer results in a + and receiver is a -. This ultimately cancels out when the ions come close together.

How many grams of As2S3 are in 3.25 moles?
laiz [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

Molar mass of As2S3= {75(2) + 32(3)}

= 150 + 96 = 246g/mol

Amount = 3.25mole

And

Amount = mass/ molar mass

mass = amount × molar mass

Mass = 3.25 × 246

mass = 799.5g

The wastewater solution from a factory containing high levels of salts needs to be diluted before it can be released into the en
Vesna [10]

Answer:

3.5 atm

Explanation:

As stated in the question pressure is required to counteract the natural tendency for water to dilute the more concentrated solution. The difference in concentrations will give us the answer using the osmotic pressure equation.

π = ( n/v) RT where n/v is the molarity (mol/L), R is the gas constant and T is the temperature.

The difference in osmotic pressure of the solutions is:

Δπ = Δ c RT where c is the difference in molar concentrations.

pressure required = Δπ = (0.190 - 0.048) M x 0.821 Latm/Kmol x 298 K

= 3.47 atm

Calculate the volume of the gas when the pressure of the gas is 1.60 atm at a temperature of 298 K. There are 160. mol of gas in
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

2445 L

Explanation:

Given:

Pressure = 1.60 atm

Temperature = 298 K

Volume = ?

n = 160 mol

Using ideal gas equation as:

PV=nRT

where,

P is the pressure

V is the volume

n is the number of moles

T is the temperature

R is Gas constant having value = 08206 L.atm/K.mol

Applying the equation as:

1.60 atm × V = 160 mol × 0.08206 L.atm/K.mol × 298 K

⇒V = 2445.39 L

Answer to four significant digits, Volume = 2445 L
