The answer is D. Here's why:

A. That is false because both the x-axis and the y-axis have both positive and negative values on them.

B. That is false because in a graph, numbers, and numbers only, are placed along both the x-axis and the y-axis.

C. That is false because the x-axis and the y-axis are always very similar, if not exactly the same length in every direction.

That leaves only D as the answer. That is correct because the x-axis runs horizontal (from right to left on your paper and the y-axis runs vertically (up and down on your paper)

Hope that helps!

How many moles of methane occupy a volume of 2.00 l at 50.0°c and 0.500 atm answer?
Sauron [17]
Data Given:
                  Pressure  =  P  =  0.5 atm

                  Volume  =  V  =  2.0 L

                  Temperature  =  T  =  50 °C + 273  =  323 K

                  Moles  =  n  =  ?

Solution:
              Let suppose the gas is acting Ideally, Then According to Ideal Gas Equation.

                              P V  =  n R T
Solving for n,
                              n  =  P V / R T

Putting Values,
                             n  =  (0.5 atm × 2.0 L) ÷ (0.0821 atm.L.mol⁻¹.K⁻¹ × 323 K)

                             n  =  0.0377 mol

A team of engineers is doing a cost-benefit analysis to determine whether
beks73 [17]

Answer:

1) The risk of high cost due to increased resource requirements

2) The risk of late entry into the (a changed) market

Explanation:

The analysis being performed by the engineers = A cost benefit analysis to determine if a new technology should be developed

A cost-benefit analysis is a process of appraising or measuring the advantages, benefits of a policy, action or decision, so as to find the (equilibrium) balance point between the costs of the decision or action

The risk to be considered are;

1) The risk of high cost due to increased resource requirements

The increased cost required for the development of the new technology now which due to the unlikely existence of a similar invention in the market that will give them an advantage of increased profits

2) The risk of late entry into the (a changed) market

The changes in the consumer preferences, market landscape, and the likely introduction into the market of a similar invention by the competition in the near future which will reduce the amount of profits that can be gained from the invention

How many moles of oxygen must be placed
umka21 [38]

Answer: 0.245 moles of oxygen must be placed in the container to exert the given pressure at the given temperature. The Ideal Gas Law equation gives the relationship among the pressure, volume, temperature, and moles of gas.

Further Explanation:

The Ideal Gas Equation is:

PV = nRT

where:

P - pressure (in atm)

V - volume (in L)

n - amount of gas (in moles)

R - universal gas constant 0.08206 \frac{L-atm}{mol-K}

T - temperature (in K)

In the problem, we are given the values:

P = 2.00 atm (3 significant figures)

V = 3.00 L  (3 significant figures)

n = ?

T = 25.0 degrees Celsius (3 significant figures)

We need to convert the temperature to Kelvin before we can use the Ideal Gas Equation. The formula to convert from degree Celsius to Kelvin is:

Temperature \ in \ Kelvin = Temperature\ in \ Celsius \ + \ 273.15

Therefore, for this problem,

Temperature\ in \ K = 25.0 +273.15\\Temperature\ in \ K = 298.15

Solving for n using the Ideal Gas Equation:

n \ = \frac{PV}{RT}\\n \ = \frac{(2.00 \ atm) \ (3.00 \ L)}{(0.08206 \ \frac{L-atm}{mol-K})( 298.15 \ K)}  \\n \ = 0.245 \ mol

The least number of significant figures is 3, therefore, the final answer must have only 3 significant figures.
