If 65.5 moles of an ideal gas is at 9.15 atm at 50.30 °C, what is the volume of the gas?

To calculate for the volume, we need a relation to relate the number of moles (n), pressure (P), and temperature (T) with volume (V). For simplification, we assume the gas is an ideal gas. So, we use PV=nRT.

PV = nRT where R is the universal gas constant
V = nRT / P
V = 65.5 ( 0.08205 ) (273.15 + 50.30) / 9.15
V = 189.98 L

Describe the particles of a solid, liquid, and gas. For each, be sure to tell how far apart they are and how fast or slowly they
Art [367]

Answer:

Solid

 • A solid is a state of matter where the particles are tightly packed together, they are very close together
 • They vibrate, they move very slowly

Liquid

 • A liquid has free-flowing particles, but they may not leave the container
 • They move at medium speed

Gas

 • A gas moves very freely, they leave the container, and they may not be captured in its entirety
 • It moves very fast because it is heated

Hope this helps :)

A beam of light has a wavelength of 24.0 μm ( μm = 10 -6m). What is its frequency?
vfiekz [6]

Answer:

Frequency = 1.25 ×10¹³ Hz

Explanation:

Given data:

Wavelength of light = 24.0 μm (2.4 ×10⁻⁵ m)

Frequency = ?

Solution:

Formula:

Speed of light = wavelength × frequency

Speed of light /wavelength = frequency

Frequency = 3×10⁸ m /s /2.4 ×10⁻⁵m

Frequency = 1.25 ×10¹³ s⁻¹

s⁻¹ = Hz

Frequency = 1.25 ×10¹³ Hz
