Physics

"Quantitative" means described with numbers.  They are 'quantities'.
Length, weight, temperature, and price are quantitative measurements.

"Qualitative" means described some other way, not with numbers.
They are 'qualities'.
Color, beauty, honesty, and intelligence are qualitative properties,
although nowadays, methods have been invented for measuring
and describing even these things with numbers.

Imagine you have been asked to create an experimental design to test the hypothesis that talking on a cell phone impairs driving
joja [24]
To start the control would be import to see how drivers would act with full focus on the road. The subjects should (in order for the only difference to be the phone) is to use the same vehicle same road same weather condition, just obviously one has the phone the other does not. I hope this helps

What is the velocity of a 50kg skater if her momentum is 225kg. m/s?
Gnom [1K]

|Momentum| = (mass) x (speed)

225 kg-m/s =(50kg) x (speed)

Divide each side by (50kg):  Speed=(225 kg-m/s) / (50 kg) = 4.5 m/s .

Regarding the velocity, nothing can be said other than the speed, because
we have no information regarding the direction of the object's motion.

A bystander observes the musicians heading toward each other. When musician #1 is 100 m away, the intensity is 1.24 x 10-8 W/m^2
777dan777 [17]

Explanation:

Given that,

Distance 1, r = 100 m

Intensity, I_1=1.24\times 10^{-8}\ W/m^2

If distance 2, r' = 25 m

We need to find the intensity and the intensity level at 25 meters. Intensity and a distance r is given by :

I=\dfrac{P}{4\pi r^2}.........(1)

Let I' is the intensity at r'. So,

I'=\dfrac{P}{4\pi r'^2}............(2)

From equation (1) and (2) :

I'=\dfrac{Ir}{r'^2}

I'=\dfrac{1.24\times 10^{-8}\times 100}{25^2}

I'=1.98\times 10^{-9}\ W/m^2

Intensity level is given by :

dB=10\ log(\dfrac{I'}{I_o}), I_o=10^{-12}\ W/m^2

dB=10\ log(\dfrac{1.98\times 10^{-9}}{10^{-12}})

dB = 32.96 dB

Hence, this is the required solution.
