Na (sodium) has a molar mass of 23g.
Cl (chlorine) has a molar mass of 35g.

To find the molar mass of NaCl, add the individual elements' masses together:

23 + 35 = 58

The molar mass of NaCl is 58g.

To find the mass of 3.45 moles of NaCl, multiply the moles by its mass:

58 \times 3.45 = 200.1

There are 200.1 grams in 3.45 moles of NaCl.

Consider the following scenario
GarryVolchara [31]

Answer:

See explaination

Explanation:

Going by the clues that it is between Silver Flouride (AgF) and Sodium Fluoride (NaF) and since it is an aqueous solution , the 1 liter bottle is likely to be Sodium Chloride( NaCl). Going by the reaction,

AgF + NaCl= AgCl + NaF

Here, the color of AgCl is white, hence the solution cannot be AgCl.

Determination of NaCl

Determination of NaCl can be done by Mohr's Method or Volhard's method. But results in Volhard's method are more accurate . Its uses the method of back titration with Potassium Thiocynate which forms a AgCl precipitate . Prior to titration, excess AgNO3 ( The problem also has a clue that excess reagents are present in the lab ) is added to the NaCl solution so that all the Cl- ions react with Ag+. Fe3+ is then added as an indicator and the solution is titrated with KSCN to form a silver thiocyannite precipitate (AgSCN). Once all the silver has reacted, a slight excess of SCN- reacts with Fe3+ to form Fe(SCN)3 dark red complex. The concentration of Cl- is determined by subtracting the titer findings of Ag+ ions that reacted to form AgSCN from the Ag NO3 moles added to the solution. This is used because pH of the solution is acidic. If the pH of solution is basic, Mohr's method is used.

Reactions

Ag+ (aq)+ Cl-(aq) = AgCl(aq)

Ag+(aq) + SCN-(aq) = AgSCN(aq)

Fe3+(aq) + SCN-(aq) = [FeSCN]2- (aq)

Sam follows the directions on a box of pancake mix. The box says that it makes 10 pancakes, but he is able to make 8 pancakes fr
Mice21 [21]

Given that the pancake mix can be used for the preparation of 10 pancakes. The other ingredients added to the pancake mix would be eggs, cheese, milk, salt and baking soda. If all of thee ingredients are added to the pan cake mix in required proportions, we can make 10 pan cakes. So, the theoretical yield will be 10 pancakes. But in real Sam was able to prepare only 8 pancakes. That means the number of pancakes produced was limited by the amount of other ingredients. So, the actual yield will be 8 pancakes.

Hence the correct answer B) Theoretical yield

Answer:

He assumed wrongly

Explanation:

It happened this way because the person assumed wrongly.

Most other compounds have the same physical appearance as water especially when in liquid form.

 • This can be a very tricky one in the laboratory.
 • The sense of taste is not the best way to fathom what a particular compound is made up of.
 • This is the reason why this student or person faced this sort of problem.
 • Water has different properties that can be tested for using simple techniques in the laboratory.

Ex 1) 45.2 g of Zn = _____ moles Zn

Ex 2) 0.568 moles Ag = _____ grams Ag
Jlenok [28]

the molar mass of Zn is 65

 • number of mole(n)=reacting mass/molar mass
 • n=45.2/65
 • =0.70g/mol

2.the molar mass of Ag is 108

 • 0.568=m/108
 • then cross multiply
 • m=0.568×108
 • m=61.3g
