Answer:

Momentum is defined as the amount of motion occurring in something that is moving, or the force that drives something forward to keep it moving. An example of momentum is how quickly a car is moving down a hill.

The correct answer is: momentum is defined as equal to “mass x velocity” and it is measured in Kg m/s. All moving masses have momentum. The bigger the mass and the bigger the velocity the greater the momentum. A fast train has a large momentum. A falling meteorite has a huge momentum. A moving galaxy has the largest momentum I can imagine!!

In the context of energy transfers with hot and cold reservoirs, the sign convention is that _______________.
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

B. QC > 0; QH < 0

Explanation:

Given that there are two reservoir of energy.

Sign convention for heat and work :

1.If the heat is adding to the system then it is taken as positive and if heat is going out from the system then it is taken as negative.

2. If the work is done on the system then it is taken as negative and if the work is done by the system then it is taken as positive.

From hot reservoir heat is going out that is why it is taken as negative

Q_H

From cold reservoir heat is coming inside the reservoir that is why it is taken as positive

Q_C>0

That is why the answer will be

An archer pulls her bowstring back 0.410 m by exerting a force that increases uniformly from zero to 270 N. How much work is don
Nitella [24]

Answer:

110.7Joules

Explanation:

Work is said to be done when the force applied to a body cause the body to move through a distance. Mathematically:

Work done = Force * Distance

Given the following

Force = 270 -0 = 270N

Distance moved = 0.410m

Required

The work done

Substitute the given parameters into the formula

Workdone = 270 * 0.41

Workdone = 110.7Joules

Hence the work done in pulling the bow is 110.7Joules
