If the whole angle (ABC) is equal to 133, we can add angles ABD and DBC to find x.

10x+13=133
Subtract 13 from both sides to get
10x=120
Divide both sides by 10 to get that x=12

We can now plug the value of x into ABD to find its measure.
7(12)+4
Simplifies to 84+4, which is 88

So angle ABD is equal to 88 degrees.

if an amount of $100 in a savings account increases by 10% , then increases by 10% again, is that the same as increasing by 20%
Elina [12.6K]

100 + 100 * 10/100 = 110

NOW 110 INCREASES BY 10 %, 110 + 110*10/100 = 110+ 11 = 121

INCREASE OF 20 % = 100 + 100*20/100= 100+20 = 120

SO IT IS NOT SAME

Find the surface area of the composite figure. 2 in. 4 in. 7 in. 10 in. 2 in. 4 in. SA = [?] in.² 4 in. 0.7 If you'd like you ca
Novosadov [1.4K]

The surface area of the composite figure is; SA = 224 in.²

How to find the area of a Composite Figure?

From the composite figure attached, we can find the surface area of each of the rectangular/square external face seen as;

SA= 2(10 * 2) + 2(4 * 7) + 2(4 * 4) + 2(4 * 2) + (4 * 7) + (10 * 4) + (3 * 4)

SA = 40 + 56 + 32 + 16 + 28 + 40 + 12

SA = 224 in.²

Thus, we can conclude that the surface area of the composite figure is;

SA = 224 in.²

Find the area and the perimeter of the shaded regions below. Give your answer as a completely simplified exact value in terms of
____ [38]

Answer:

So we have a triangle and a semicircle.

If the triangle is equilateral, this is:

AB = BC = 6cm

Then the area of the triangle is equal to (base*height)/2

in this case:

A = (6*6)/2 = 36/2 = 18cm^2.

And the diameter of the semicircle is equal to 6cm, then the diameter is 3cm

And if the area of a circle is A = pi*r^2

then the area of half a circle is:

A = (pi/2*)3^2 = pi*4.5cm^2

Then, the area of the triangle plus the area of the semicircle is:

Total area = 18cm^2 + pi*4.5^2
