Determine the value of the equilibrium constant (report

Chemistry

Answer:

Kps = 6.56e⁻⁹

Explanation:

This is a solubility equilibrium

PbI₂ (s) ⇄ Pb²⁺ + 2I⁻

Expression for Kc will be:

[I⁻]² . [Pb²⁺] / [PbI₂]

But we do not have to consider the solid. It does not have a physical sense. Amount of solid without dissolving, doesn't affect the ions concentrations.

We talk about Kps (Constant for solubility product)

Kps = [I⁻]² . [Pb²⁺]

Kps = (0.00081)² . 0.01 → 6.56x10⁻⁹

If 125mL of a 0.15M NaOH solution is diluted to 150mL, what will the new molarity of the solution be?
stiks02 [169]

Answer:

C NaOHsln = 0.125 M

Explanation:

Molarity (M) [=] mol/L

∴ moles NaOH = (0.125 L)(0.15 mol/L) = 0.01875 mol

∴ Vsln = 150 mL = 0.150 L

New Molarity:

⇒ C NaOH = 0.01875 mol/0.150 L

⇒ C NaOH = 0.125 M
