What is the mass of 11.4 L of NO2

Chemistry
1 answer:

At STP volume is 22.4 L

Molar mass NO₂ = 46.0 g/mol

1 mole ---------- 22.4 L
? mole ---------- 11.4 L

moles = 11.4 * 1 / 22.4

moles = 11.4 / 22.4

= 0.5089 moles of NO₂

Mass NO₂ :

moles NO₂ * molar mass

0.5089 * 46.0

= 23.4094 g of NO₂

hope this helps!

Consider the compounds Cl2, HCl, F2, NaF, and HF. Which compound has a boiling point closest to that of argon? Explain how you c
Ipatiy [6.2K]

Answer:

Cl2, Chlorine molecule has a boiling point closest to that of argon.

This is because Chlorine is made up of discrete and simple molecules making up a simple molecular structure. The molecules associate through weak van der waal's forces of attraction hence low boiling point.

HCl has strong hydrogen bonds.

F2 is very small hence strong forces of attraction.

HF has strong hydrogen bonds

A 0.500 g sample of He at STP has a volume that is one-half that of an unknown pure gas also at STP. The unknown pure gas sample
Anuta_ua [19.1K]

Answer:

Molar mass of the unknown gas: 146 g /mol

Explanation:

At STP, any "ideal" gas is contained in a volume of 22.4L. This situation, for 1 mol of gas. In this case we have:

0.5 g / 4 g/mol = 0.125 moles of He

These amount of He occupies 0.125 mol . 22.4L / 1 mol = 2.8 L so the double of volume will be occupied by the unkown gas.

22.4 L / 1 mol = (2.8 L . 2) / x moles

22.4L / 1 mol = 5.6 L / x mol

x mol = 5.6L / 22.4L → 0.25 moles

To determine the molar mass of the unknown gas → 36.5 g / 0.25 mol = 146 g /mol

Which of the following will NOT break down due to a chemical change?
True [87]

Answer:

2. Ne

Explanation:

Neon is an element. You cannot break down an element by chemical means.

1, 3, and 4 are wrong. They are all compounds, and compounds can be broken down by chemical means.

How many significant figures should the result have 2.524 g (5.1 • 106 g)
kvasek [131]

Answer:

Two

Step-by-step explanation:

In multiplication problems, your answer can have no more significant figures than the number with the fewest significant figures.

Start with the calculation inside parentheses:

5.1 × 10.6 = 54.060 000 00 (by my calculator)

There are three significant figures in 10.6, but only two in 5.1.

In this were a number you had to report, you would round to two significant figures and report the answer as 54.

54.060 000 00 → 54 (to two significant figures)

However, you must multiply this intermediate answer by 2.524.

Therefore, you multiply the number in the calculator by 2.524 and get

54.060 000 00 × 2.524 = 136.447 4400

NOW, you round to two significant figures and report the answer as 140.
