Answer:

Potassium cation = K⁺²

Explanation:

The metal cation in K₂SO₄ is K⁺². While the anion is SO₄²⁻.

All the metals have tendency to lose the electrons and form cation. In given compound the metal is potassium so it should form the cation. The overall compound is neutral.

The charge on sulfate is -2. While the oxidation state of potassium is +1. So in order to make compound overall neutral there should be two potassium cation so that potassium becomes +2 and cancel the -2 charge on sulfate and make the charge on compound zero.

2K⁺²  ,  SO₄²⁻

K₂SO₄

Green light has a wavelength of 550nm. What is the frequency of a photon of green light?
Vikki [24]

Answer:- Frequency is 5.4*10^1^4Hz .

Solution:- frequency and wavelength are inversely proportional to each other and the equation used is:

\nu =\frac{c}{\lambda }

where, \nu is frequency, c is speed of light and \lambda is the wavelength.

Speed of light is 3.0*10^8m/s .

We need to convert the wavelength from nm to m.

( 1nm=10^-^9m )

550nm(\frac{10^-^9m}{1nm})

= 5.5*10^-^7m

Now, let's plug in the values in the equation to calculate the frequency:

\nu =\frac{3.0*10^8m.s^-^1}{5.5*10^-^7m}

= 5.4*10^1^4s^-^1 or 5.4*10^1^4Hz

since, 1s^-^1=1Hz

So, the frequency of the green light photon is 5.4*10^1^4Hz .

Viktor [21]

Answer: subduction and sea floor spreading

Explanation:

He knew that the continents today were once joined together by fossil records of plants and animals that were found to be on continents far removed from each other. He knew this also by corresponding land forms that matches up as well. What he couldn’t prove is how the land masses would have moved so far away from each other. Subduction and sea floor spreading move the tectonic plates that the continents sit on. That’s what he was missing.
