Answer:

Atoms of tellurium (Te) have the greatest average number of neutrons equal to 76.

Explanation:

In the periodic table, Elements are represented with their respected symbols. Above the symbol is the elements atomic number which is equal to the number of protons in each atom. Below the symbol is the mass number of that element which is roughly equal to the sum of neutrons and protons of that atom.

To calculate the number of neutrons we can take the difference of Atomic number and mass number:

Number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number

<u>- Tin:</u>

Atomic number = 50

Mass number = 119

Number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number = 119 - 50

Number of neutrons = 69

<u>- Antimony(Sb):</u>

Atomic number = 51

Mass number = 122

Number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number = 122 - 51

Number of neutrons = 71

<u>- Tellurium(Te):</u>

Atomic number = 52

Mass number = 128

Number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number = 128 - 52

Number of neutrons = <u>76</u>

<u>- Iodine(I):</u>

Atomic number = 53

Mass number = 127

Number of neutrons = mass number - atomic number = 127 - 53

Number of neutrons = 74

Here, the greatest number of neutrons is for the atoms of Tellurium(Te).

How much salt (nacl) is carried by a river flowing at 30.0 m3/s and containing 50.0 mg/l of salt? give your answer in kg/day?
slamgirl [31]
Answer: 129,600kg/day
In this question, you are given the river flow (30m3/s) and the salt concentration. Then to determine the amount of salt carried, you simply need to multiply the flow with concentration. Be careful because the unit in this question is different and need to be converted. The equation would be:

Salt = river flow x salt concentration
Salt = 30m3/s x 1000L/m3 x 50mg/L = 1,500,000mg/second

Then convert it into kg/day
Salt= 1,500,000mg/second x 10^-6 kg/mg x (3600 second/hour) x (24 hour/day)= 129,600kg/day

Please help me with this Physics question!
Cerrena [4.2K]

Answer:

D) 11 m/s

Explanation:

We have to calculate the velocity of the hot dog with respect to the observer still outside the train. This velocity will be given by:

v=v_t + v_m + v_h

where

v_t=+10 m/s is the velocity of the train (towards right)

v_m=+2 m/s is the velocity of the man (towards right)

v_h=-1 m/s is the velocity of the hot-dog (towards left, so we put a negative sign)

By replacing the numbers into the equation, we find

v=+10 m/s+2 m/s-1 m/s=+11 m/s

and the positive sign means the velocity is toward right.

The surface charge density on an infinite charged plane is −1.70 x 10^−6 C/m^2 . A proton is shot straight away from the plane a
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

Acceleration of proton will be -9.197\times 10^{12}m/sec^2

Explanation:

We have given surface charge density of an infinite charged plate \sigma = -1.70\times 10^{-6}C/m^2

Electric field due to infinite sheet charge is given by E=\frac{\sigma }{2\epsilon _0}=\frac{-1.7\times 10^{-6}}{2\times 8.85\times10^{-12}}=-0.096\times 10^6=-9.6\times 10^4N/C

Charge in proton is given by e=1.6\times 10^{-19}C

So force on proton F=qE=1.6\times 10^{-19}\times -9.6\times 10^4=-15.36\times 10^{-15}N

Mass of proton m=1.67\times 10^{-27}kg

According to newtons second law force F = mass × acceleration

So -15.36\times10^{-15}=1.67\times 10^{-27}a

a=-9.197\times 10^{12}m/sec^2

Why was it difficult for people to accept a heliocentric concept of the solar system
Vsevolod [243]
Prior to the discovery and elaboration of Copernicus with the theory of heliocentricism, which states that the sun is the center of the universe and that the planets orbit around it in a circular manner. The theory of geocentrism was first published by another astronomer and philosopher, Ptolemy. As a custom in the early years of the society, people already stood for the idea that the earth is the center of the universe which is easy to believe at that time given that their perspective shows that the sun moves when observed from earth's atmosphere.
