As it turns out, the main factor is the boiling point. Oil is purified by the process of fractional distillation, or repeatedly attempting to remove impurities by increasing the intensity of the removal process. By analyzing a sample and repeatedly attempting to “evaporate” it, the sample will slowly become more concentrated with complex hydrocarbons, which are better for industrial production because of their energetic capacity. Less complex HC’s will be filtered out at lower boiling points.

Determine whether you can swim in 1.00 x 10^27 molecules of water.
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

We can not swim in 1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules of water

Explanation:

The given number of molecules of water = 1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules

The Avogadro's number, N_A, gives the number of molecules in one mole of a substance

N_A ≈ 6.0221409 × 10²³ molecules/mol

Therefore

Therefore, we have;

The number of moles of water present in 1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules, n = (The number of molecules of water) ÷ N_A

∴ n = (1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules)/(6.0221409 × 10²³ molecules/mol) = 1,660.53902857 moles

The mass of one mole of water = The molar mass of water = 18.01528 g/mol

The mass, 'm', of water in 1,660.53902857 moles of water is given as follows;

Mass = (The number of moles of the substance) × (The molar mass of the substance)

∴ The mass of the water in the given quantity of water, m = 1,660.53902857 moles × 18.01528 g/mol ≈ 29.9150756 kg.

The density pf water, ρ = 997 kg/m³

Volume = Mass/Density

∴ The volume of the water present in the given quantity of water, v = 29.9150756 kg/(997 kg/m³) ≈ 30.0050909 liters

The volume of the water present in 1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules of water ≈ 30.0 liters

The average volume of a human body = 62 liters

Therefore, we can not swim in the given quantity of 1.00 × 10²⁷ molecules = 30.0 liters water

A 0.245-L flask contains 0.467 mol co2 at 159 °c. Calculate the pressure using the ideal gas law.
lubasha [3.4K]

Answer:

Pressure, P = 67.57 atm

Explanation:

Given the following data;

 • Volume = 0.245 L
 • Number of moles = 0.467 moles
 • Temperature = 159°C
 • Ideal gas constant, R = 0.08206 L·atm/mol·K

Conversion:

We would convert the value of the temperature in Celsius to Kelvin.

T = 273 + °C

T = 273 + 159

T = 432 Kelvin

To find the pressure of the gas, we would use the ideal gas law;

PV = nRT

Where;

 • P is the pressure.
 • V is the volume.
 • n is the number of moles of substance.
 • R is the ideal gas constant.
 • T is the temperature.

Making P the subject of formula, we have;

P = \frac {nRT}{V}

Substituting into the formula, we have;

P = \frac {0.467*0.08206*432}{0.245}

P = \frac {16.5551}{0.245}

Pressure, P = 67.57 atm

there are 28L of soup in a pot. Marshall serves 400mL in each bowl. If he fills 16 bowls how much soup is left in the pot? in li
Ne4ueva [31]
Total in pot=28 L
400 mL in each bowl
16 bowls filled
1000mL=1L
16 bowls(400mL/1 bowl)=6400mL
6400mL(1L/1000mL)=6.4L
28L-6.4L=21.6 L
