Answer:

Both choices B and C are valid

Explanation:

Sound wave are Mechanical wave. Air (or viscus fluid) is the medium of propagation. Sound is produced by the back and forth vibration of the object. Consider the vibration of object is from left to right then this back and forth vibrations of object displaces the molecules of the medium both rightward and leftward (to and fro) to the direction of the energy transport forming compression and rarefaction. This shows that the motion of the molecules of the medium is both parallel (and anti-parallel) to the direction of the sound wave propagation.

What happens to the distance between interference fringes if the separation between two slits is increased?
kolezko [41]

Answer:

It will decrease

Explanation:

The double-slit interference equation, which gives us the position y of a maximum on the screen (measured relative to the central position), is

y=\frac{n\lambda D}{d}

where

n is the order of the maximum

D is the distance between the slits and the screen

\lambda is the wavelength of the light

d is the separation between the two slits

From the formula, we see that y is inversely proportional to d: this means that if the separation between the slits is increased, the distance of each maximum from the central position (y) decreases, therefore the distance between the interference fringes will decrease.

What property of all ionic compounds make them electrolytes
steposvetlana [31]

Property of all ionic compounds make them electrolytes;

An electrolyte is a compound that conducts an electric current  it is also in the form of aqueous solution or in the molten state, the ionic compounds are electrolytes because they dissociate into ions.

Explanation:

  • Property of all ionic compounds make them electrolytes;
  • An electrolyte is a compound that conducts an electric current  it is also in the form of aqueous solution or in the molten state, the ionic compounds are electrolytes because they dissociate into ions.
  • Most of the unique properties come from the hydrogen bonds which holds the water together.
  • when a solutes break away from the crystal, the negatively and positively charged ions become surrounded by solvent molecules and it dissolves the ionic crystal.
