True. Coastal regions are affected if it is warm currents over the ocean it make for a higher temperature over the land, if it's a colder current over the ocean it makes for temperatures to drop over land. This happens when the wind blows in from the sea.

Rank the following atoms in order of increasing electronegativity.a. Se, O, S b. P, Na, Cl c. Cl, S, F d. O, P, N
Papessa [141]

Answer:

a)- Se, S, O

b)- Na, P, Cl

c)- S, Cl, F

d)- P, N, O

Explanation:

We can solve this problem by looking at the Periodic Table. In a group, electronegativity increases from bottom to top; whereas in periods it increases from left to right.

Thus, we order the elements from lower to higher electronegativity as follows:

a. Se, O, S ⇒ order: Se, S, O

Because they are all in the same group. Se is near the bottom, followed by S and O is at the top.

b. P, Na, Cl ⇒ order: Na, P, Cl

They are in the same period. Na is at the left, followed by P and Cl is nearest the right.

c. Cl, S, F ⇒ order: S, Cl, F

P and Cl are in the same period, and P is at the left, so it has the lowest electronegativity. F is in the same group of Cl, but at the top. F has the highest electronegativity.

d. O, P, N ⇒ order: P, N, O

N and P are in the same group, but P is at the bottom so it has the lower electronegativity. N and O are in the same period, but O is at the right, so it is the most electronegative.

Calculate H3O+ when OH- is 2*10 -8
klio [65]
Relationship between [H3O+] and [OH-] is:

[H3O+] X [OH-] = 1.00 X10^-14

Rearranging gives:
[H3O+] = 1.0X10^-14 / [OH-]

Just plug in and calculate your [H3O+] values

What is the acceleration of a 200 gram ice cube if the<br> net force on the ice cube is 2 N?
Law Incorporation [45]
Net force = mass x acceleration so you would plug in the numbers to make it
2n = 200 x a then divide by 200 on both sides
A = 0.01 m/s

An atom of lead has a radius of and the average orbital speed of the electrons in it is about . Calculate the least possible unc
victus00 [196]

The question is incomplete. Here is the complete question.

An atom of lead has a radius of 154 pm and the average orbitalspeed of the electron in it is about 1.8x10^{8} m/s. Calculate the least possible uncertainty in a measurement of the speed of an electron in an atom of lead. Write your answer as a percentage of the average speed, and round it to significant 2 digits.

Answer: v% = 0.21 m/s

Explanation: To calculate the uncertainty, use <u>Heisenberg's Uncertainty Principle</u>, which states that:  ΔpΔx≥\frac{h}{4\pi }

where h is <u>Planck's constant</u> and it is equal to 6.626.10^{-34}m²kg/s.

Since p (momentum) is p = m.v:

mΔv.Δx ≥ \frac{h}{4\pi }

Δv = \frac{h}{4\pi.x.m }

Given that: r = x = 1.54.10^{-10}m and mass of an electron is m=9.1.10^{-31}kg

Δv = \frac{6.626.10^{-34} }{4.3.14.1.54.10^{-10}.9.1.10^{-31}}

Δv = 0.0376.10^{7}

As percentage of average speed:

Δv.\frac{1}{v}.100% = \frac{0.0376.10^{7} }{1.8.10^{8} }.10² = 0.021.10 = 0.21%

The least possible uncertainty in a speed of an electron is 0.21%.
