Answer:

Mapping the ocean floor is made these days due to efforts of professionals and the researchers of the aquatic biosphere. As, they have revealed the mysteries that were not discussed before. So, analyzing the ocean floor and making it more easy for us to know the diversity found on the ocean floor.

  1. While, the diversity on the ocean floor is inhabited by millions of species and these species in a more larger space then we expect as the different organisms covers miles of space inside the ocean and for that reason we have to analyze each species habitat by using a much wider form of scale.Collecting Data at 10 cm intervals. 2. Sonar:

Sonar is based upon using the ultrasonic form of waves, as they are generated by a source of U.V rays in a specific direction to analyze any given area or subject target by the professionals. The ultra sonic waves are considered much penetrable, having the capacity to be more secure and having less number of losses in them. Which makes the sonar more accurate then any other source of waves to analyze a given space.

  • Note:

"Most of the aquatic and other animals uses the sonar procedure to locate there prey and other targets etc."

Answer:

1) They are the same line so they match equally bc they are measuring the same thing just one is more specific than the other

2) Sonar measures all depths at every possible point and maps it including all the gaps in between the 5cm apart the ocean floor is. The difference between the points could be a cliff or a smooth decline.

The melting point of H₂O(s) is 0 °C. Would you expect the melting point of H₂S(s) to be 85 °C, 0 °C or -85 °C.? Justify your cho
dimulka [17.4K]

Answer:

-85 °C

Explanation:

O and S are in the same group( Group 16). Since S is below O it's atomic mass is higher than O. So molar mass of H2S is higher than H2O. The strength of Vanderwaal Interactions ( London dispersion forces) increases when the molar mass increases. However, only H2O can form H bonds with each other. This is because electronegativity of O is higher than S and therefore H in H2O has a higher partial positive charge than H of H2S.

H bond dominate among these 2 types of forces so the strength of attractions between molecules is higher in H2O than H2S. Therefore more energy should be supplied for H2O to break inter

molecular forces and convert from solid to liquid state than H2S. So mpt of H2O must be higher than that of H2S.

Lead(II) oxide from an ore can be reduced to elemental lead by heating in a furnace with carbon. Calculate the expected yield of
Lelu [443]

Answer:

53kg is the expected yield of lead

Explanation:

Firstly, in order to solve this question, we need to write the equation of reaction correctly. This is as follows:

PbO(s) + C(s) ---> Pb(l) + CO(g)

We proceed from here. We should get the limiting reactant but this can only be obtained by getting the number of moles of each reactant present.

The formula to use across all boards is that the number of moles is the mass of each of the reactant divided by the molar mass of each of the reactant.

For PBO, mass is 57kg = 57000g

Molar mass of PBO = 223.20g/mol

The number of moles is thus 57,000/223.2 = 255.37 moles

For carbon, mass is also 57kg = 57000g

Molar mass is 12g/mol

Number of moles of carbon = 57000/12 = 4750 moles

From the number of moles, we can see that the number of moles of Carbon is greater than that of PbO. This means that PbO is the limiting reagent.

Hence we use it to calculate percentage yield.

The number of moles of lead formed is the same of number of moles of lead oxide = 255.37 since we have mole ratio of 1 to 1

The molar mass of lead is 207.20g/mol

The mass of lead formed is = moles of lead formed * molar mass of lead = 207.20 * 255.37 = 52,912g which is approximately 53kg

Hence the expected yield is 53kg
