A 44 L cylinder containing helium gas at a pressure of 43.1 atm is used to fill a weather balloon in order to lift equipment int

Answer:

The value of maximum pressure the balloon could be filled = 6.40 atmosphere.

Explanation:

When helium from the cylinder is filled inside the balloon the heat & work

transfer is zero during the process. so from the first law of thermodynamics

change in internal energy is zero.

⇒ U_{2} - U_{1} = 0

⇒ U_{2} = U_{1}

⇒ T_{2} = T_{1} ------------- (1)

Final temperature is equal to initial temperature.

Equation (1) can be written as

⇒ P_{2}V_{2} = P_{1}V_{1} -------------(2)

Initial volume = 44 L

Final volume = 296 L

Initial pressure = 43.1 atmosphere

Final pressure = we have to calculate

Put all the values in Equation (2) we get,

⇒ P_{2} × 296 = 43.1 × 44

⇒ P_{2} = 6.40 atmosphere

This is the value of maximum pressure the balloon could be filled.

If the (H+) is 2.1×10^-12 MHCIO4, What is the PH? is the solution ACIDIC, BASIC or NEUTRAL.
Lilit [14]

Explanation:

The pH of a substance can be found by using the formula

pH =  -  log[ H^{ + }  ]

where [ H+ ] is the hydrogen ion concentration in the substance

From the question

[ H+ ] = 2.1 × 10-¹² M

To find the pH substitute the value into the above formula

We have

pH =  -  log(2.1 \times  {10}^{ - 12} )  \\  = 11.6777807 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:

We have the answer as

<h2>pH = 11.7 </h2>

The solution is basic since it lies in the basic region that is from 8 to 14

Hope this helps you

The alternating rising and falling of the sea caused by the gravitational pull of the moon is called?
Mashcka [7]

Answer: Tides are the regular, alternating rise and fall of sea level caused by the gravitational pull of the moon and sun. The changing of the tide is often rapid and dramatic. On a smaller scale, similar motions occur on large lakes, in the atmosphere, and even within the solid earth.

Data has been collected to show that at a given wavelength in a 1 cm pathlength cell, Beer's Law for the absorbance of Co2 is li
White raven [17]

Answer : The concentration of a solution with an absorbance of 0.420 is, 0.162 M

Explanation :

Using Beer-Lambert's law :

A=\epsilon \times C\times l

As per question, at constant path-length there is a direct relation between absorbance and concentration.

\frac{A_1}{A_2}=\frac{C_1}{C_2}

where,

A = absorbance of solution

C = concentration of solution

l = path length

A_1 = initial absorbance = 0.350

A_2 = final absorbance = 0.420

C_1 = initial concentration = 0.135 M

C_2 = final concentration = ?

Now put all the given value in the above relation, we get:

\frac{0.350}{0.420}=\frac{0.135}{C_2}

C_2=0.162M

Thus, the concentration of a solution with an absorbance of 0.420 is, 0.162 M
