A simple and common technique for accelerating electrons is shown in the figure, where there is a uniform electric field between
Sunny_sXe [5.5K]

Answer : 4.483\times 10^{15}\ m/s^2.

Explanation:

It is given that,

Electric field strength, E=2.55\times 10^{4}\ N/C

We know that,

Charge of electron, q=1.6\times 10^{-19}\ C

Mass of electron, m=9.1\times 10^{-31}\ kg

From the definition of electric field, F=qE...............(1)

According to Newton's second law, F = ma..........(2)

From equation (1) and (2)

ma=qE

a=\dfrac{qE}{m}

a=\dfrac{1.6\times 10^{-19}\ C\times 2.55\times 10^{4}\ N/C }{9.1\times 10^{-31}\ kg}

a=0.4483\times 10^{16}\ m/s^2

or

a=4.483\times 10^{15}\ m/s^2

So, the horizontal component of acceleration of an electron is 4.483\times 10^{15}\ m/s^2.

Hence, it is the required solution.

A ray is incident on a film of thickness t and the index of refraction n=1.6 at an angle θ = 35 degrees. Find the angle of refra
lidiya [134]

Answer

Given,

refractive index of film, n = 1.6

refractive index of air, n' = 1

angle of incidence, i = 35°

angle of refraction, r = ?

Using Snell's law

n' sin i = n sin r

1 x sin 35° = 1.6 x sin  r

 r = 21°

Angle of refraction is equal to 21°.

Now,

distance at which refractive angle comes out

d = 2.5 mm

α be the angle with horizontal surface and incident ray.

α = 90°-21° = 69°

t be the thickness of the film.

So,

tan \alpha = \dfrac{t}{d/2}

tan 61^0 = \dfrac{t}{2.5/2}

t = 2.26 mm

Hence, the thickness of the film is equal to 2.26 mm.

Where are overcurrent protective devices normally installed in a branch circuit?
love history [14]

Overcurrent protective devices are normally installed in a branch circuit from where the conductors receive their supply.

<h3>What is resistance?</h3>

Resistance is the obstruction of electrons in an electrically conducting material. The mathematical relation for resistance can be understood with the help of the empirical relation provided by Ohm's law.

V=IR

V is the voltage,I is the current and R is the resistance

The vercurrent protective devices are normally installed in a branch circuit from where the conductors receive their supply.

Thus, In a branch circuit, overcurrent safety devices are often located from where the conductors get their supply.
