Answer:

As we know that science is based upon logic. So the scientific theories have a logical reasoning behind them. So considering that in mind, scientific hypothesis include the motion of sailing rocks by animals, wind, flowing water, magnetic field, humans and gravity. The motion of the rocks by ghosts, God and magic are not scientific theories as we can not prove them logicaly.

An automobile accelerates uniformly from a speed of 60 km/hr (16.67 m/s) to a speed of 80 km/hr (22.2 m/s) in 5 s. Determine the
monitta

Answer:

The acceleration is 1.106\ m/s^2 and the distance covered is 97.17 m.

Explanation:

Given that,

Initial speed of an automobile, u = 60 km/hr = 16.67 m/s

Final speed of an automobile, v = 80 km/hr = 22.2 m/s

Time, t = 5 s

We need to find the acceleration of the car and the distance traveled in this 5 sec interval.  Let a is the acceleration. Using the definition of acceleration as :

a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}\\\\a=\dfrac{22.2-16.67}{5}\\\\a=1.106\ m/s^2

Let d is the distance covered. Using the third equation of motion to find it as follows :

v^2-u^2=2as\\\\s=\dfrac{v^2-u^2}{2a}\\\\s=\dfrac{(22.2)^2-(16.67)^2}{2\times 1.106}\\\\s=97.17\ m

So, the acceleration is 1.106\ m/s^2 and the distance covered is 97.17 m.

A radiographer stands six feet from the x-ray source when performing a portable chest exam and receives an exposure of 2 mGy. If
telo118 [61]

Answer:

  I₂ = 8 mG

Explanation:

The intensity of a beam is

          I = P / A

Where P is the emitted power which is 3) 3

Let's use index 1 for the initial position of r₁ = 6 ft and 2 for the second position r₂ = 3 ft

          I₁ A₁  = I₂  A₂

           I₂ = I₁ A₁ / A₂

The area of the beam if we assume that it is distributed either in the form of a sphere is

           A₁ = 4π r²

We substitute

            I₂ = I₁ (r₁ / r₂)²

           I₂ = 2 (6/3)²

           I₂ = 2 4

           I₂ = 8 mG
