How many chickens does it take to kill an elephant?

Physics

Answer:

I don't think any number of chickens would come together to kill an elephant, but if you really wanted to take a guess, you'd have to find the mass of an average elephant and then find the mass of the average chicken. Doing this, you'd probably end up with about 6500 chickens.

Can we use a clinical thermometer to measure the temperature of a candle flame
miv72 [106K]

In theory, yes. The 2 problems are the materials used for clinical thermometers, & the temperature capacity of the clinical thermometer. If anything, change the material & extend the measurement threshold. At that point, it wouldn´t be used for clinical garbage anymore.

We wrap a light, nonstretching cable around a 8.00 kg solid cylinder with diameter of 30.0 cm. The cylinder rotates with negligi
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

h = 16.67m

Explanation:

If the kinetic energy of the cylinder is 510J:

Kc=510=1/2*Ic*\omega c^2

\omega c=\sqrt{510*2/Ic}

Where the inertia is given by:

Ic=1/2*m_c*R_c^2=1/2*(8)*(0.15)^2=0.0225kg.m^2

Replacing this value:

\omega c=106.46rad/s

Speed of the block will therefore be:

V_b=\omega_c*R_c=106.46*0.15=15.969m/s

By conservation of energy:

Eo = Ef

Eo = 0

Ef = 510+1/2*m_b*V_b^2-m_b*g*h

So,

0 = 510+1/2*m_b*V_b^2-m_b*g*h

Solving for h we get:

h=16.67m

ball A of mass 5.0 kg moving at 20 meters per second collides with ball B of unknown mass moving at 10. meters per second in the
antiseptic1488 [7]

Answer:The mass of ball B is 10 kg.

Explanation;

Mass of ball A = M_A=5 kg

Velocity of the ball A before collision:U_A=20 m/s

Velocity of ball A after collision=V_A=10 m/s

Mass of ball B= M_B

Velocity of the ball B before collision:U_B=10 m/s

Velocity of ball B after collision=V_B=15 m/s

M_AV_A+M_BV_B=M_AU_A+M_BU_B

5 kg\times 10 m/s+M_B\times 15=5 kg\times 20m/s+M_B\times 10m/s

M_B=10kg

The mass of ball B is 10 kg.

A bike accelerates uniformly(from rest to a speed of 7 m/s over a distance of 40 m. Determine
marshall27 [118]

Answer:

0.61 m/s^2

Explanation:

The bike's acceleration can be found by using the following suvat equation:

v^2-u^2=2as

where

v is the final velocity of the bike

u is the initial velocity

a is the acceleration

s is the distance covered

For the bike in the problem,

u = 0

v = 7 m/s

d = 40 m

Solving the equation for a, we find the acceleration:

a=\frac{v^2-u^2}{2s}=\frac{7^2-0}{2(40)}=0.61 m/s^2
