Before beginning a long trip on a hot day, a driver inflates anautomobile tire to a gauge pressure of 2.70 atm at 300 K. At the

end of the trip the gaugepressure has increased to 3.20 atm.
(a) Assuming that the volume has remainedconstant, what is the temperature of the air inside the tire?
1 K
(b) What percentage of the original mass of air in the tire shouldbe released so the pressure returns to the original value? Assumethe temperature remains at the value found in (a), and the volumeof the tire remains constant as air is released.

Answer:

The value is the temperature of the air inside the tire T_{2} = 340.54 K

% of the original mass of air in the tire should be released 99.706 %

Explanation:

Initial gauge pressure = 2.7 atm

Absolute pressure at inlet P_{1} = 2.7 + 1 = 3.7 atm

Absolute pressure at outlet P_{2} = 3.2 + 1 = 4.2 atm

Temperature at inlet T_{1} = 300 K

(a) Volume of the system is constant so  pressure is directly proportional to the temperature.

\frac{T_{2} }{T_{1} } = \frac{P_{2} }{P_{1} }

\frac{T_{2} }{300}  = \frac{4.2}{3.7}

T_{2} = 340.54 K

This is the value is the temperature of the air inside the tire

(b). Since volume of the tyre is constant & pressure reaches the original value.

From ideal gas equation P V = m R T

Since P , V & R is constant. So

m T = constant

m_{1}  T_{1} =  m_{2}  T_{2}

\frac{m_{2} }{m_{1}  } = \frac{T_{1} }{T_{2} }

\frac{m_{2} }{m_{1}  } = \frac{300}{354.54}

\frac{m_{2} }{m_{1}  } =0.00294

value of  the original mass of air in the tire should be released is  \frac{m_{2} - m_{1}}{m_{1}}

\frac{0.00294-1}{1}

⇒ -0.99706

% of the original mass of air in the tire should be released 99.706 %.

Gauss's law is usualy written as :
snow_tiger [21]

Answer:

(a) the net charge inside the closed surface.

Explanation:

In Gauss' Law, Qencl refers to the net charge inside the Gaussian surface. This surface is usually taken as a symmetric geometric surface, but this is merely for simplicity. Gauss' Law holds for any closed surface. Inside this surface there can be insulators as well as conductors. Regardless of the geometry or the materials inside, Qencl refers to the net charge inside the closed surface. The charge outside the surface is irrelevant for Gauss' Law, therefore all the charge in the physical system is not included in Gauss' Law.

A 2.5 g bullet traveling at 350 m/s hits a tree and slows uniformly to a stop while penetrating a distance of 12 cm into the tre
Cloud [144]

Answer: Work done = 153.125Joules, Work done = 0.003Nm

Explanation:

Kinetic energy of a body is the energy possessed by a body by virtue of its motion.

Mathematically,

K.E = 1/2MV²

Where;

M = mass of the body = 2.5g = 0.0025kg

V = velocity of the body = 350m/s

Substituting this values in the formula, we have;

K.E = 1/2× 0.0025×350²

K.E = 153.125Joules

Work done is the force applied to body to cause it to move through a distance.

Work = Force × distance

Force = ma = 0.0025 × 10

Force = 0.025N

Distance = 12cm = 0.12m

Work = 0.025×0.12

Work = 0.003Nm

work done by the tree in stopping the bullet is 0.003N

Minority group
Margarita [4]

Answer:

Minority group - People who are singled  out for unequal treatment  and who regard  themselves as objects of  collective discrimination.

Ethnicity - A shared identity based on  cultural elements such as  heritage, language, and  religion.

Majority group - A group's subset that  consists of more than half  of the entire group's  members.

Race - A socially constructed  group of people who share  physical characteristics  that are considered  significant by a society  and that are used to  distinguish them from  other groups.

Explanation:

To better understand the above-mentioned definitions we would use some examples:

Elder people can be considered as a minority group in the United States because of their reduced status as a consequence of popular discrimination and prejudice against them. In contrast to them, young men consisting of more than half the population in the age category is an example of the majority group.

Groups of people like Hispanic Americans, Jews, Italian America, Irish are some examples of people belonging to different ethnic backgrounds residing in the U.S.

African Americans who are distinguished based on their skin color is an example of race.
