Why? Because parents tend to teach their children based off of what happened to them as they grew up. As a young adult, you need to make your own mistakes and learn things the hard way. There is NOTHING your parents can do to prevent you from making mistakes and running into road blocks once in a while. Personally, my parents try to teach me the lessons they had to learn for themselves. However, just because your parents made some wrong decisions or did things they shouldn't have, doesn't mean that you will or won't make the same mistakes.
