Suppose that you jounce up and down while weighing yourself on a bathroom scale. Which varies: the upward support force or the f

orce of gravity on you? Why is your weight reading best shown when you stand at rest on the scale?

The bathroom scale always measures the normal force that acts on the body when placed on it. The body stores energy which is transformed into force when a displacement is made. This extra force should be added or subtracted from the weight.

N = mg ± F

Keep in mind that the bathroom scale is only responsible for displaying Normal Force. Therefore when jumping up or moving down the bathroom scale will indicate a different value because the normal force acting on the body is varying: There is weight and internal Force.

This does not happen in full equilibrium condition when the normal force is equal to the weight. In that condition the balance would indicate the correct weight.

N = mg

Which of the following statements is true about the scientific process? The hypothesis is always supported in the end / You can
Pachacha [2.7K]
The correct answer is the statement #3. The statement that says: your hypothesis must be testable, is a true statement about the scientific process. IT will be truly unreasonable and a waste to be doing experiments on a hypothesis that is not even possible to solve.

A segull flying horizontally at 15m/s drops a clam. The clam takes 3.0sec to hit the ground. How high was the seagull when the c
lora16 [44]

The distance a dropped object falls, with gravity and no air resistance:

Distance = (1/2) (acceleration) (falling time)²

Without air resistance, the horizontal motion has no effect on the fall.

Acceleration of Earth gravity = 9.8 m/s²

Distance = (1/2) (acceleration) (falling time)²

Distance = (1/2) (9.81 m/s²) (3.0 s)²

Distance = (0.5) x (9.81 m/s²) x (9.0 s²)

Distance = (0.5 x 9.81 x 9.0) (m-s² / s²)

Distance = 44.15 meters

We don't care how fast the bird was flying horizontally.  It doesn't change anything.  (It DOES determine how far ahead of the drop point the clam hits the ground.  Most problems like this ask for that distance.  This one didn't.)

_ is the name given to the heat energy received from the sun
Travka [436]

Answer:

The think the answer is solar radiation.

Explanation:

here, we gain the heat from the sun through a radiation. When it travels from the sun the harmful radiation are absorbed by ozone layer and heat enegry is provided to the surface of the Earth.
