The 94-lb force P is applied to the 220-lb crate, which is stationary before the force is applied. Determine the magnitude and d

irection of the friction force F exerted by the horizontal surface on the crate. The friction force is positive if to the right, negative if to the left.

Answer

given,

force = 94 lb

weight of crate = 220 lb

Assuming the static friction be equal = 0.47

                       kinetic friction = 0.36

Maximum force applied to move the object is when object is just start to move.

F = μ N

F = 0.47 x 220

F = 103.4 lb

As the frictional force is more than applied then the object will not move.

so, the friction force will be equal to the force applied on the object that is equal to 94 lb.

hence, the direction of force will left.

KiRa [710]

Answer:

w

Explanation:

Potential energy is energy that is built up and saved. When you are moving and letting out that energy, that is kinetic energy. You would be using the least kinetic energy when you aren't moving, which is at the top of the hill because you move faster the more you go down.

Velocity of an object of mass 5 kg increases from 3 m/s to 7 m/s on applying a force continuously for 2 s. Find out the force ap
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

Force=10N

Velocity=13m/s

Explanation:

Given,

Mass = 5kg

initial velocity=3m/s

Final velocity=7m/s

Time=2s

Now acceleration= v-u/t

=7-3/2

=4/2

=2m/s²

So, acceleration=2m/s²

Now,

F=ma

=5*2

=10N

A puppy is running with a speed of 11.2 m/s towards it owner when it
Levart [38]

Answer:

-5.6m/s²

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Initial speed  = 11.2m/s

Time of running  = 2s

Unknown:

Acceleration of the puppy  = ?

Solution:

Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity with time.

So;

   Acceleration  = \frac{Final speed  - initial speed }{time}

final speed  = 0m/s

 Acceleration  = \frac{0 - 11.2}{2}    = -5.6m/s²
