Answer:

B, C, F. and H

Explanation:

The correct answer would be B, C, F, and H.

According to the kinetic theory, the kinetic energy of molecules of a substance is directly proportional to the temperature of the substance.

The intermolecular forces holding the molecules in a solid together become weaker as the temperature of the solid increases along with the kinetic energy. The molecules vibrate and further apart, leading to the melting of the solid.

How many protons, electrons, and neutrons does the following isotope contain?
27 A13+
Lapatulllka [165]

Hey there!

27 tells us the sum of protons and neutrons is 27.

Al tells us we have 13 protons.

3+ tells us that there are 3 less electrons than protons.

13 + n = 27

neutrons = 14

13 - 3 = 10 electrons

27Al3+ has 13 protons, 14 neutrons, and 10 electrons.

Hope this helps!

c) A substance has a high melting point and conducts electricity. What type of structure does it have
trapecia [35]

Answer:

Metallic structure

Explanation:

They have a high melting point due to the strong forces of attraction between the positive ions (cations) and the delocalised electrons. Moreover, they conduct electricity due to the sea of delocalised electrons.

[Extra: It could be an ionic compound since they also have a high melting point, however they only conduct electricity in liquid or aqeouus state.]

The evaporation of liquid water from the surface of Earth is an important step in the water cycle. How do water molecules obtain
Alex777 [14]
Well, during the day, the water, as well as the surfaces surrounding the water, are heated by various thermodynamic processes: conduction, convection, radiation, etc. This in turn warms the water molecules in the lakes, streams, rivers, and oceans, thereby transferring heat (their kinetic energy) to the water molecules, which in turn receive that energy from the surrounding surfaces, or directly via radiation/insolation from the sun. When the water molecules attain enough energy, some of them attain enough energy to escape the surface of the liquid and enter the gas phase. Hence, as water is heated, more and more water molecules attain enough kinetic energy to enter the gas phase.
