Two trains are moving at 30 m/s in opposite directions on the same track. The engineers see simultaneously that they are on a co

llision course and apply the brakes when they are 1000 m apart. Assuming both trains have the same acceleration, what must this acceleration be if the trains are to stop just short of colliding?

Answer:

Acceleration of train needed to avoid collision = -0.9 m/s²

Explanation:

Here both trains are similar with 1000 m apart with same speed.

So one train has to move 500 m before stopping just to avoid collision.

We have

Initial velocity, u =  30 m/s

Acceleration , a = ?

Displacement, s = 500 m

Final velocity, v = 0 m/s

We have equation of motion v²= u² + 2as

Substituting

     v²= u² + 2as

     0²= 30² + 2 x a x 500

    a = -0.9 m/s²

Acceleration of train needed to avoid collision = -0.9 m/s²

A block of metal which is 20 cm on a side has a mass of 20 kg. What is it’s density? Please answer in MkS (SI) units.
Ratling [72]

The density of an object is given by:

D = M/V

D = density, M = mass, V = volume

The volume of the cube V is given by:

V = s³

where s = side length

Make a substitution:

D = M/s³

Given values:

M = 20kg, s = 20×10⁻²m

Plug in and solve for D:

D = 20/(20×10⁻²)³

D = 2500kg/m³

The statement which describes how a machine can help make work easier is that It can put out more force than the input force by decreasing the distance over which force is applied, therefore the correct option is option A.

What is work done?

The total amount of energy transferred when a force is applied to move an object through some distance

The work done is the multiplication of applied force with displacement.

Work Done = Force * Displacement

As work done depends both on the force as well as the displacement force and be reduced by reducing the displacement if the same amount of work is performed by the machine.

The correct answer is option A since the statement that describes how a machine might assist in making work easier says that it can put out greater force than the input force by reducing the distance over which force is exerted.

How is shooting a shotgun related to newtons third law ? why does a rifle have less “kick” then a shotgun ?
Mazyrski [523]
Newton’s third law is a force is a push or pull that acts upon an object as a result of another object.. A shot gun when fired pulls back when a force (you pulling the trigger) is acted upon it. This is how it relates. A rifle has less kick than a shot gun because the rifle is smaller and has less of a force than a shot gun.

telo118 [61]

Answer:

Help out with the laundry himself.

Explanation:

In social learning theory, it's a process where people tend to observe the actions of others and then imitate them.

Now, since this father wants to teach his son to start helping his mother do the do laundry, what he can do according to social learning theory is to help with the laundry himself first.
