Convection currents form when you have a liquid or gas have regions with a difference in temperature and there is a heat source feeding the system. Colder areas are going to want to fall and hotter regions want to rise.

Whenever the alternating current frequency in a series RLC circuit is halved,
Colt1911 [192]

Answer:

The correct option is

a. The inductive reactance is doubled and the capacitive reactance is halved

Explanation:

For a series RLC circuit, is a resonant circuit such that the impedance, Z, is minimum at the resonance frequency

Also we have that the capacitive reactance X_C, is given as follows;

X_c = \dfrac{1}{\omega \cdot C}

Where;

ω = Angular frequency = 2πf

Where;

f = The frequency in the circuit

\therefore X_c = \dfrac{1}{2 \cdot \pi \cdot f \cdot C}

The inductive reactance is also given as follows;

X_L = \omega \cdot L =  2 \cdot \pi \cdot f \cdot L

Therefore, when the circuit frequency doubles, the inductive reactance doubles and the capacitive reactance halves

A car of mass 875 kg is traveling 30.0 m/s when the driver applies the brakes, which lock the wheels. The car skids for 5.60 s i
AleksAgata [21]

Explanation:

It is given that,

Mass of the car, m = 875 kg

Initial speed of the car, u = 30 m/s

Brakes are applied i.e. v = 0

The car skids for 5.60 s in the positive x - direction before coming to rest, t = 5.6

(a) Acceleration of the car, a=\dfrac{v-u}{t}

a=\dfrac{0-30}{5.6}

a=-5.35\ m/s^2

(b) Force, F = ma

F=875\ kg\times -5.35\ m/s^2

F = -4681.25 N

So, the force of 4681.25 N is acting on the car.

(c) Let x is the distance covered by the car. So,

v^2-u^2=2ax

0-u^2=2ax

x=\dfrac{-u^2}{2a}

x=\dfrac{-(30\ m/s)^2}{2\times -5.35\ m/s^2}

x = 84.11 meters

So, the distance covered by the car is 84.11 meters. Hence, this is the required solution.

Suppose that we use a heater to boil liquid nitrogen (N2 molecules). 4480 J of heat turns 20 g of liquid nitrogen into gas. Note
love history [14]

Answer:

The energy is 9.4\times10^{-21}\ J

(a) is correct option

Explanation:

Given that,

Energy = 4480 j

Weight of nitrogen = 20 g

Boil temperature = 77 K

Pressure = 1 atm

We need to calculate the internal energy

Using first law of thermodynamics

Q=\Delta U+W

Q=\Delta U+nRT

Put the value into the formula

4480=\Delta U+\dfrac{20}{28}\times8.314\times77

\Delta U=4480-\dfrac{20}{28}\times8.314\times77

\Delta U=4022.73\ J

We need to calculate the number of molecules in 20 g N₂

Using formula of number of molecules

N=n\times \text{Avogadro number}

Put the value into the formula

N=\dfrac{20}{28}\times6.02\times10^{23}

N=4.3\times10^{23}

We need to calculate the energy

Using formula of energy

E=\dfrac{\Delta U}{N}

Put the value into the formula

E=\dfrac{4022.73}{4.3\times10^{23}}

E=9.4\times10^{-21}\ J

Hence, The energy is 9.4\times10^{-21}\ J
