Answer:

D) Fusion requires high temperatures and pressures, so how have they reduced the energy cost for it?

Explanation:

Fusion requires high temperatures and pressure for initiation of reaction . There is no chain reaction in it so there is no problem of controlling the problem . On the other hand , the reaction tends to stop as soon as temperature goes down due to heat getting dissipated . There is no problem of fuel as its fuel is deuterium which is present in nature in large amount . The question which is pertinent is that the cost involved in attaining so high temperature is very high so is it cost effective to produce energy by incurring so much of cost . Producing energy by using so much of energy in the beginning appears to be preposterous.

How do I solve this
Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

W = 8.01 × 10^(-17) [J]

Explanation:

To solve this problem we need to know the electron is a subatomic particle with a negative elementary electrical charge (-1,602 × 10-19 C), The expression to calculate the work is given by:

W = q*V

where:

q = charge = 1,602 × 10^(-19) [C]

V = voltage = 500 [V]

W = work [J]

W = 1,602 × 10^(-19) * 500

W = 8.01 × 10^(-17) [J]

An automobile rounds a curve of radius 50.0 m on a flat road.
bixtya [17]

Answer:

14m/s

Explanation:

Given parameters:

Radius of the curve  = 50m

Centripetal acceleration  = 3.92m/s²

Unknown:

Speed needed to keep the car on the curve = ?

Solution:

The centripetal acceleration is the inwardly directly acceleration needed to keep a body along a curved path.

 It is given as;

      a = \frac{v^{2} }{r}

a is the centripetal acceleration

v is the speed

r is the radius

  Now insert the parameters and find v;

         v²   = ar

        v² = 3.92 x 50  = 196

         v  = √196 = 14m/s

Which of the following are found within the electromagnetic spectrum? Check all that apply. sound waves visible light X rays ult
sattari [20]

Answer:

Visible light

X rays

ultraviolet radiation

gamma rays

microwave radiation

Explanation:

Electromagnetic waves consist of oscillating electric and magnetic fields which vibrate in a direction perpendicular to the direction of motion of the wave (transverse wave). Electromagnetic waves have all same speed in a vacuum (c=3.0\cdot 10^8 m/s, known as speed of light) and are classified into 7 different types according to their frequency and wavelength. This classification is called electromagnetic spectrum.

From lowest to highest wavelength, the 7 types are:

Gamma rays

X-rays

Ultraviolet radiation

Visible light

Infrared radiation

Microwaves

Radio waves

Sound waves, on the contrary, do not belong to the electromagnetic spectrum, since they are another type of wave called mechanical waves (which consist of vibrations of the particles in a medium).
