Answer:

a) E = 17.55 MeV

b) E = 18.99 MeV

c) E = 3.29 MeV

d) You can use the methods applied for the other parts to solve this, the equation is not properly written

e) E = 4.075 MeV

Explanation:

Energy Released, E = \triangle M * 931.5

\triangle M = \sum M_{product} - \sum M_{reactant}

Mass of 1H, M_{H} = 1.007823

Mass of 2H, M_{2H} = 2.0141u

Mass of 3H, M_{3H} = 3.016 u

Mass of Helium, M_{4He} = 4.002602u

Mass of Beryllium, M_{7Be} = 7.01693 u

Mass of neutron, M_{n} = 1.008664 u

a) 2H + 3H \rightarrow 4He + n

\triangle M = (4M_{He} + M_{n} ) - (2M_{H} + 3 M_{H} )\\\triangle M = ( 4.0026 + 1.008664) - (2.0141 + 3.016 )\\\triangle M = -0.01884u

Energy released,

E = -0.01884 * 931.5\\E = -17.55 Mev

Energy released = 17.55 MeV

b) 4He + 4He \rightarrow 7Be + n

\triangle M = (M_{7Be} + M_{n} ) - (M_{4He} +  M_{4He} )\\\triangle M = ( 7.01693 + 1.008664) - (4.002602 + 4.002602 )\\\triangle M = 0.02039 u

Energy released,

E = 0.02039 * 931.5\\E = 18.99 Mev

c) 2H + 2H \rightarrow 3 He + n

\triangle M = (M_{3He} + M_{n} ) - (M_{2H} +  M_{2H} )\\\triangle M = ( 3.016 + 1.008664) - (2.0141 + 2.0141 )\\\triangle M = -0.003536 u

Energy released,

E = -0.003536 * 931.5\\E = -3.29 Mev

E = 3.29 MeV(Energy is released)

d) You can use the methods applied for the other parts to solve this, the equation is not properly written

e) 2H + 2H \rightarrow 3H + 1H

\triangle M = (M_{3H} + M_{1H} ) - (M_{2H} +  M_{2H} )\\\triangle M = ( 3.016 + 1.007825) - (2.0141 + 2.0141 )\\\triangle M = -0.00435 u

E = -0.00435 * 931.5\\E =-4.075 Mev

E = 4.075 MeV ( Energy is released)

Answer:

Conductivity meter

Explanation:

All of the other choices measure pH and can tell you when the pH changes, which is how you know the neutralization reaction has occurred. A conductivity meter does not measure pH.

Answer:

The Empirical Formula.

Explanation:

From the empirical formula and using the weight (in g)  of a given substance, we can come up with the molecular formula which is the actual weight of a substance. Sometimes, we find that the empircal formula is the molecular formula.

A rectangular block of solid carbon (graphite) floats at the interface of two immiscible liquids.
Sergio039 [100]

Explanation:

Let us take the volume of block is x.

Since, the block is floating this means that it is in equilibrium. Formula to calculate net force will be as follows.

                F_{net} = Buoyancy force(F_{b}) - weight force(w)

Also, buoyancy force (F_{b}) = (volume submerged in water × density of water) + (volume in oil × density of oil)

          (F_{b}) = (0.592 V \times \rho) + (1 - 0.592)V \times 1000 g

                      = (0.592 V \times \rho + 408 V) g

As,   W = V × density of graphite × g

It is given that density of graphite is 2.16 g/cm^{3} or 2160 kg/m^{3}.

So, W = 2160 V g

F_{net} = (0.592 V \rho + 408 V) g - 2160 V g = 0

            0.592 \rho = 1752

     \rho = 2959.46 kg/m^{3} or 2.959 g/cm^{3} is the density of oil.

It is given that mass of flask is 124.8 g.

Mass of 35.3 cm^{3} oil = 35.3 \times 2.959 104.7 g

Hence, in second weighing total mass will be calculated as follows.

                       (124.8 + 104.7) g

                       = 229.27 g

Thus, we can conclude that in the second weighing mass is 229.27 g.

g When copper(II) chloride and sodium carbonate solutions are combined, solid copper(II) carbonate precipitates, leaving a solut
Elden [556K]

Answer:

When copper(II) chloride and sodium carbonate solutions are combined, solid copper(II) carbonate precipitates, leaving a solution of sodium chloride. Write the conventional equation, total ionic equation, and net ionic equation for this reaction.

Explanation:

The word equation for the reaction is:

Copper (II) chloride(aq) + sodium carbonate (aq) ->sodium chloride (aq) +           copper carbonate(s)

The balanced chemical equation of the reaction is:

CuCl_2(aq)+Na_2CO_3(aq)->2NaCl(aq)+CuCO_3(s)

The complete ionic equation is:

Cu^2+(aq)+2Cl^-(aq)+2Na^+(aq)+CO_3^2^-(aq)->2Cl^-(aq)+2Na^+(aq)+CuCO_3(s)\\

The net ionic equation is obtained from the complete ionic equation after removing the spectator ions:

Cu^2^+(aq)+CO_3^2^-(aq)->CuCO_3(s)
