Answer:

Activate glycolysis/Inhibit gluconeogenesis: Increased levels of fructose-2,6-bisphosphate, activation of PFK-2

Activate gluconeogenesis/Inhibit glycolysis: Increased levels of glucagon, Increased levels of cAMP, Activation of fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase-2)

Note: The question is incomplete. The complete question is given below and in the attachment.

Fructose‑2,6‑bisphosphate is a regulator of both glycolysis and gluconeogenesis for the phosphofructokinase reaction of glycolysis and the fructose‑1,6‑bisphosphatase reaction of gluconeogenesis. In turn, the concentration of fructose‑2,6‑bisphosphate is regulated by many hormones, second messengers, and enzymes. How do the following affect glycolysis and gluconeogenesis?

Explanation:

Fructose-2,6-bisphosphate is an allosteric effector for the enzymes phosphofructokinase-1 (PFK-1) and fructose-1,6-bisphosphatase (FBPase-1). It increases the affinity of PFK-1 for fructose-6-phosphate thereby activating glycolysis. However, it reduces the affinity of FBPase-1 for its substrate, fructose-1,6-bisphosphate thereby inhibiting gluconeogenesis.

Activation of phosphofructokinase-2 activates glycolysis and inhibits gluconeogenesis by catalyzing the phosphorylation of fructose-6-phosphate to form fructose-2,6-bisphosphate.

Increased levels of glucagon stimulates the synthesis of cAMpP which activates cAMP-dependent ptrotein kinase which phosphorylates the bifunctional enzyme PFK-2/FBPase-2. The phosphorylation of this enzyme inhibits its PFK-2 activity and activates its FBPase-2 activity. This results in the activation of gluconeogenesis and inhibition of glycolysis.

Fructose-2,6-bisphosphatase breaks down fructose-2,6-bisphosphate to fructose-6-phospshate and a phosphoryl group. This results in the activation of gluconeogenesis and the inhibition of glycolysis.

write the ground-state electron configurations of the seventh and eighth elements in the first transition series in Universe fif
Tju [1.3M]

Answer: Check explanation.

Explanation:

Transition metals are metallic elements that can be found in the Groups IVB–VIII, IB, and IIB on the periodic chart.

The question require us to write down the GROUND state electronic configuration of the first fifth transition metal, sixth transition metal, seventh transition metal element and the eighth transition metal.

NOTE: we are Starting from Argon, which has 18 electrons.

The fifth transition metal is Manganese,Mn. Manganese has 25 electrons, that is, 25- 18= 7. Therefore, it needs seven electrons to complete the configuration.

Hence, The ground state electronic configuration = [Ar)] 3d5. 4s2.

The first sixth Transition metal is iron,Fe. Iron has 26 electrons, that is, 26 - 18 = 8. Therefore, it need eight Electrons to complete the ground state electronic configuration.

Hence, the ground state electronic configuration of Fe= [Ar] 3d6. 4s2.

The first seventh transition metal is Cobalt, Co. It has 27 Electrons, therefore, 27- 18 = 9. Therefore, it needs 9 Electrons to complete its ground state electronic configuration.

Ground state electronic configuration of Co= [Ar] 3d7. 4s2.

The first eight Transition metal is Nickel. It has 28 electrons. Therefore, 28-18= 10. So, it needs 10 Electrons to complete its ground state electronic configuration.

Hence, the Ground state electronic configuration of Ni= [Ar] 3d8. 4s2.

Find the molecules in 32 grams of CH4
Elena L [17]

════════ ∘◦❁◦∘ ════════

Answer = 2

════════════════════

Known

Mass = 32grams

Name of atom = Methane (CH4)

Molar mass C = 12

Molar mass H = 1

════════════════════

Question

molecules (mol?)

════════════════════

Way to do

mass = mol × molar mass

32g = mol × (CH4)

33g = mol × (12 + (4×1))

32g = mol × 16

mol = 32 : 16

mol = 2

According to the electron sea theory, what happens when a collection of metal atoms are in close proximity to each other?
lys-0071 [83]
The correct answer is A. All electrons become free and separate from the nuclei. In metallic bonds, the electrons of the metal atoms are delocalized. The electron in the electron sea can freely roam around or are free to flow.

How does the energy of the atoms in a hot cup of coffee compare to the energy of the atoms in a piece of ice?
Nonamiya [84]

Answer:

The atoms in the cup of coffee have more energy.

Explanation:

The difference between the hot cup of coffee and the piece of ice is their temperature. The hot cup of coffee has a higher temperature than the ice.

The relationship between the energy and temperature is a direct relationship. This means that higher temperature means higher kinetic energy and vice versa.

Since the hot cup of coffee has a higher temperature, it means it also have the highest amount of energy. The correct option is;

The atoms in the cup of coffee have more energy.
