Let's assume you are talking about sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrochloric acid (HCl). The pH of NOH is very high, and toxic because human body pHs are balanced at slightly above 7, which is the middle range of the pH scale. HCL has a very low pH. But when combined, these compounds neutralize eachother, and produce H2O and NaCl, water and salt. A balance is formed between the strong Acid and strong Base to create 2 neutral compounds.

Draw Au3N as a picture of atoms
Shkiper50 [21]

The picture of Au₃N is attached below.

The first part of the picture shows the formation of Au and N ions.

Formation of Au⁺¹ :

As Gold has one valence electron in 6s¹ therefore, it will loose it to form Au⁺¹. In case of Au₃N three atoms of Au looses three electrons to form three Au⁺¹ ions.

Formation of N⁻³ :

As Nitrogen has 5 valence elctrions therefore, it will gain three electrons that lost by Au to form Nitrite (i.e. N⁻³)

Formation of Au₃N:

Three cations of Au⁺ combines with one anion of N⁻³ to form a neutral ionic compound i.e. Au₃N as shown in second part of the picture.

Please help me.<br><br>balance this equation <br><br>Al + 0(2) = Al0(3)
Gala2k [10]
What helps me to balance equations is to list the elements i have on each side of the equation, and use tally marks to see what I have and don't have. Then when I'm done balancing, I tally again to make sure everything matches up.
On the left side, you have 1 Al, and 2 O. On the right side, 1 Al and 3 O.
In order for the equation to balance, you need to place a 2 in front of the AlO on the right side. This would make the Al have 2 atoms and the O have six. On the left side, you need to place a 2 in front of the Al and a 3 in front of the O, making it six. Left side: 2 Al's 6 O's. Right side: 2 Al's and 6 O's. Matches!

What type of reaction is most likely to occur when barium reacts with fluorine? combustion synthesis decomposition single replac
Lana71 [14]
Answer is: synthesis.
Chemical reaction: Ba + F₂ → BaF₂.
Synthesis is type of reaction where two or more compounds (in this reaction barium and fluorine) react to form one product (in this reaction BaF₂).
BaF₂ - barium fluoride, salt, <span>white cubic crystals, soluble in methanol and ethanol.</span>

If an object has a density of 0.55 g/mL, what is its density in cg/L?
expeople1 [14]

"cg" is centigram, which is one-hundredth of a gram.

I will first convert from g to cg (multiply by 100), then from mL to L (multiply by 1000).

\frac{0.55g}{mL}*\frac{100cg}{1g}*\frac{1000mL}{1L}=55,000\frac{cg}{L} \ or \ 5.5e4\frac{cg}{L}
