We are given with the data that says the probability that a battery will last 10 hr or more is 0.8 and the probability that it will last 15 hr or more is 0.11. In this case, the probability that the battery lasts at least 10 hours and even 15 hrs more is 0.11 / 0.8 or equal to 13.75 percent.

In the future, a spaceship has traveled three percent of the distance to a space station. If the ship has traveled 2.9 x 10^7 mi
leva [86]

Answer:

9.38 * 10^8 miles

Explanation:

The spaceship has traveled 3% of the distance to a space station and it has traveled 2.9 * 10^7 miles.

Let the total distance from the ship's starting point to the space station be x.

This means that:

\frac{3}{100} * x = 2.9 * 10^7\\\\=> x = \frac{2.9 * 10^7 * 100 }{3} \\\\x = 9.67 * 10^8 miles

The total distance to be traveled is 9.67 * 10^8 miles.

Therefore, the distance left to travel is:

9.67 * 10^8 - 2.9 * 19^7\\\\= 9.38 * 10^8 miles

Evaluate the use of hydrogen as a fuel. Explain how hydrogen is produced. Write about the environmental impact of using diesel a
posledela

Explanation:

Hydrogen is used as a fuel because it has a high calorific value per molecule when burned in air and also burns explosively. When burned in air, it reacts with oxygen to produce water which is safe for the environment. This same property of hydrogen of high explosiveness makes it difficult to store safely.

Hydrogen can be produced through the electrolysis of water. However this is high energy consuming. The most common method is called steam-methane reforming. Methane from hydrocarbon is mixed with steam under high pressure and reacts to produce hydrogen and carbon monoxide.

Diesel and petrol and other petroleum products when burned produce carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas. Greenhouse gases when increasing in the atmosphere, cause greenhouse effect that results in global warming.

Which of the following statements are true concerning the creation of magnetic fields?
Soloha48 [4]

Answer:

A moving electric charge creates a magnetic field at all points in the surrounding region.

An electric current in a conductor creates a magnetic field at all points in the surrounding region.

A permanent magnet creates a magnetic field at all points in the surrounding region.

Explanation:

Magnetic field can be produced by:

- moving charges (i.e. a moving electron, or a current in a conductor)

- A magnet

The strength of the magnetic field produced by a current-carrying wire is

B=\frac{\mu_0 I}{2\pi r}

where

I is the current

r is the distance from the wire

As we see from the formula, the magnetic field is produced at all points in the surrounding region, because B becomes zero only when r becomes infinite. The same is true for the magnetic field created by a single moving charge or by a magnet.

The following choices instead are not correct:

- A single stationary electric charge creates a magnetic field at all points in the surrounding region.

- A distribution of electric charges at rest creates a magnetic field at all points in the surrounding region.

Because they involve the presence of stationary charges, and stationary charges do not produce magnetic fields.
