Answer: See below

Explanation:

a. What is know:

Dolphin's Initial Velocity (Vo) = 15.0 m/s

Gravity Acceleration = 9.8 m/s^{2}

We also know that the time the dolphin is in the air it equals to twice the time it takes to reach the highest point on the jump (t).

Total Time (Tt) = 2 * t

b. To choose appropiated equation, we notice that it is know the Dolphin's Initial Velocity  and the gravity. It not know the distance it travels or the time it takes, however, because goes up, it can be know the velocity on the highest point (Vf), which is zero. After reaching this point the Dolphin will fall back again. So it is know:

Vf = 0

Because know we know the final velocity we can calculate the distance traveled to get to that velocity under the gravity des-aceleration, we the following equation:

Vf^{2}  = Vo^{2} +  2 * a *d

Where the accelaration will be gravity, with a negative sign because it has a diference direction that the velocity, and Vf being 0, simplify the equation. Knowing all the values, we search the distance (d).

d = \frac{Vo^{2} }{2g}

Changing the values:

d = 11.46 m

c. To know the time is very easy. Because we know the initial velocity, the gravity and the final velocity. We can use the following equation

Vf = Vo - gt

Searching for time we get:

t = \frac{Vo}{g}

Which give us a time of: 1.53 s

This is the time it takes to get to the highest point. By doubling it, we know how much it took the dolphin to jump to the highest point and fall back to the water, which is the time it was on air.

Tt = 2 * 1.53 s

Tt= 3.06 s

A ball is projected horizontally from a table 1.0 m high and hits the ground after falling from a time t=0.45s. If the ball trav

The initial velocity is 6.7 m/s

Explanation:

The motion of the ball is a projectile motion, therefore it consists of two independent motions:

- A uniform motion (constant velocity) along the horizontal direction

- A uniformly accelerated motion, with constant acceleration (acceleration of gravity) in the downward direction

In this problem, we just need to analyze the horizontal motion: the horizontal velocity is constant, therefore the horizontal distance travelled is given by

x=v_x t

where

v_x is the horizontal velocity

t is the time of flight

Here we have:

t = 0.45 s

x = 3.0 m

And so solving for v_x, we find

v_x = \frac{3.0}{0.45}=6.7 m/s

And since the ball was initially projected horizontally, this is also the initial velocity.

Irene was investigating the behavior of gases at certain conditions. Which would most likely cause an increase in the rate of co
kipiarov [429]

Answer:

Increase in temperature

Increase in pressure

Explanation:

For the rate of collisions to increase, It can happen in various ways

1. The gasses can be made to move faster: This can be done by increasing their temperature. An increase in the temperature of the gases directly relates to a corresponding increase in their kinetic energy. This means that the molecules of the gases can move with a greater velocity, which will increase collision rates.

2. The volume of the container can be reduced: Consider this; If the container is made smaller, the molecules of the gases will have less space to move about. This means that they will be bumping into the walls of the container more frequently. This reduction in volume leads to an increase in the pressure of the gas. This is exactly what happens in a piston-cylinder assembly
