Answer:

1.52 × 10⁻¹⁶ nm

Explanation:

We are given,

Energy = 3.36 × 10⁻¹⁷ Joules

We are required to find the wavelength of light

We are going to use,

The formula, E = hλ/c

Where E is the energy, λ is the wavelength, h is the plank's constant and c is the speed of light.

h = 6.626 × 10^-34 J-s

c = 2.998 × 10^8 m/s

Working

From the formula;

Wavelength=\frac{Ec}{h}

= (3.36 × 10⁻¹⁷ J)(2.998 × 10^8 m/s) ÷ 6.626 × 10^-34 J-s

= 1.52 × 10⁻²⁵ meters

Therefore, the wavelength in m is 1.52 × 10⁻²⁵ m

Conversion

We need to convert m to nm

Conversion factor is 10⁹

Therefore;

1.52 × 10⁻²⁵ m to nm

will be; 1.52 × 10⁻²⁵ m × 10⁹

 = 1.52 × 10⁻¹⁶ nm

Thus, the wavelength in nm is 1.52 × 10⁻¹⁶ nm

the frequency of a given region of the electromagnetic spectrum is more than 3 x 10^19HZ. note that the speed of light is 2.998
Cerrena [4.2K]
To solve this problem, You need to look up a picture/diagram of the electromagnetic spectrum. This will have the wave regions listed as well as frequencies and wavelength.
Wavelength is distance/length of one wave, which can be calculated using frequency (hz = s^-1) and the speed of light.
2.998 x 10^8 m/s ÷ 3 x 10^19 s^-1 = 9.99 x 10^-12 m

The Frequency given falls in between X-rays and Gamma rays. The wavelength however; is in the Gama ray region.

What are 2 examples of what happens when scientist do not have a standard system of measurement of the scientific community?
dolphi86 [110]

Answer:

Explanation:

The standard system of measurement is what is popularly referred to as SI unit (or international system of units). For example, the SI unit for length is basically in meters (m), which is convertible to millimeter (mm), centimeter (cm) or even kilometer (km).

If there is no standard system of measurement,

1) Scientists will not be able to compare data as every scientist will use a unit that suits him/herself which might make data incomparable as some units might be difficult to convert to other units or there conversion methods might even be debatable.

2) There might be a general lack of understanding of the research work done by a scientist/scientists in the scientific community. This is because the standard system of measurement affords scientists to communicate properly with the same or convertible units and based on 1. above, if scientists use any unit that isn't agreed upon, different/unknown/debatable units might make understanding of research works incomprehensible.
