It's sodium chloride.

sodium chloride is table salt which is a pure substance. it's a compound but not a mixture.

note that iodized salt is a mixture, but we're just talking sodium chloride here.

Answer:

Sodium chloride, NaCl.

Explanation:

Hello,

In this case, sodium chloride whose formula is NaCl is not a mixture since it is a pure substance formed by the chemical bonding between sodium and chlorine via an ionic bond. This is substantiated throughout the fact that sea water is an homogeneous mixture as well as the glass of kool-aid. On the flip side, a jar filled with rocks and sand is an heterogeneous mixture as you are able to notice the difference between the rocks and the sand.

Best regards.

In an ionic compound, the size of the ions affects the internuclear distance (the distance between the centers of adjacent ions)
jeyben [28]

Answer:

Li2S> Na2S> K2S> CsS

Explanation:

The lattice energy of ionic species depends on the relative sizes of ions in the ionic compounds. As the size of ions increases, the lattice energy decreases and vice versa.

When the size of the anions are the same, the lattice energy now depends on the relative sizes of the cations. Therefore, since all the compounds are sulphides and the order of magnitude of ionic sizes is: Li^+ < Na^+ < K^+ < Cs^+.

Therefore, the order of decrease in lattice energy is; Li2S> Na2S> K2S> CsS

Magnesium ribbon reacts vigorously with hydrochloric acid. The test tube gets hot and bubbles are produced. When a metal reacts
oee [108]
The answer is C, hydrogen gas. This is because in single replacement reactions, the single element (here Magnesium) replaces whichever element in the compound it corresponds to. Because Mg loses electrons since it’s a metal, it will replace the element which also loses electrons, which is Hydrogen here. So when they switch places, MgCl2 and H2 are made— and H2 is the hydrogen gas.

How many electrons in an atom could have these sets of quantum numbers n=7 l=3 ml=-1?
zysi [14]

Solution:

Since we have ml=-1

it shows that it has two 2e- i;e it fond in 2nd subshell in f orbital. And each subshell can hold 2 e-.

Thus the required answer is 2 electrons hold by an atom.
