The two nuclei are Krypton-89 and Barium- 144

Explanation:

The splitting nuclei is a Uranium-235:

          U:

            mass number = 235

            atomic number = 92

We can write the atom as ²³⁵₉₂U

From the key, a neutron particle collides with the Uranium nuclei. The neutron  is represented as:

                          ¹₀n

Writing the expression  on the left hand side:

                     ²³⁵₉₂U +  ¹₀n

In a fission reaction, a heavy nucleus disintegrates into 2 lighter nuclei and several neutrons with the release of a large amount of energy.

NOTE: In every nuclear reaction, the mass number and atomic number is always conserved.

Problem: To find the unknown nuclei on the right hand side;

        Known:

            3 neutrons;

                   ²³⁵₉₂U +  ¹₀n → 3 ¹₀n + unknown nuclei

To balance the product side,

   mass number = (235+1) - (3x1) = 233

      Atomic number = 92 -3 = 89

from the options given, Krypton and plutonium will fit this:

  Given information of Kr:

           atomic number = 36

           neutron number = 53

Mass number = atomic number + neutron number = 89

 Given information of Ba:

            atomic number =  56

            neutron number =  88

            mass number =    56+88 = 144

        Complete equation:

                  ²³⁵₉₂U +  ¹₀n → 3 ¹₀n + ¹⁴⁴₅₆Ba + ⁸⁹₃₆Kr

Suppose that the process were repeated, except that in step 3 a neutral acrylic rod instead of a finger is used to touch the ele
Marta_Voda [28]

Answer:

b) True Only if the finger is isolated from ground

c) True. The total charge does not change since the system is isolated

Explanation:

When the electroscope is touched with an acrylic rod, some charges are transferred from the electroscope to the rod, until the charge in both is equal.

In the case it know when the electroscope is touched with a finger, two things can happen.

- The body is isolated from the ground, the efective charge is redistributed between the two bodies. Case similar to insulating rod

- The body is connected to ground, the charge is transferred to the finger and from here to the ground until the total charge is transferred and the Earth and the final charge of the electroscope is zero.

Let's review the final statements

a) False, when part of the load is touched, it passes to the rod, so when it separates it does not return to the initial load

b) True Only if the finger is isolated from ground

c) True. The total load does not change since the system is isolated

d) False. The value of the load changes =, but its sign does not

In a second order lever system the force ratio is 2.5, the load is at the distance of 0.5m from the fulcrum find distance of eff
Fynjy0 [20]

Answer:

1.25 m

Explanation:

From the question given above, the following data were obtained:

Force ratio = 2.5

Distance of load from the fulcrum = 0.5 m

Distance of effort =.?

The distance of the effort from the fulcrum can be obtained as illustrated below:

Force ratio = Distance of effort / Distance of load

2.5 = Distance of effort / 0.5

Cross multiply

Distance of effort = 2.5 × 0.5

Distance of effort = 1.25 m

Therefore, the distance of the effort from the fulcrum is 1.25 m
