1. dropping the ball converts potential energy PE to kinetic energy KE. when ball hits ground, it bounces back up. KE is converted back to PE at dat pt. cuz' ball bounces back almost up 2 ur hand, the PE is almost conserved.

2. energy changes with ball as it is accelerated by gravity. the increase in velocity converts ball's PE to its KE.

3. two changes in speed n position: first during drop of ball. speed from zero at hand postion to its max at ground position. second during the bounce back. speed from max at ground poisiton to zero at almost hand position.

1. As you drops a ball, its potential energy is converted into kinetic energy during its fall. It moves faster and faster as more PE is converted into KE until the ball hits the ground.

2. The conversion from PE to KE is due to the work done by gravity acceleration. As the ball is accelerated by gravity towards ground, its PE is converted to KE.

3. Total energy of the ball is conserved. Its position changes as it gets closer to the ground. Its PE decreases as its speed and hence KE increases until it hits the ground.

A 5.00 L sample of helium expands to 12.0 L at which point the
mina [271]

Answer:

1.73 atm

Explanation:

Given data:

Initial volume of helium = 5.00 L

Final volume of helium = 12.0 L

Final pressure = 0.720 atm

Initial pressure = ?

Solution:

"The volume of given amount of gas is inversely proportional to its pressure by keeping the temperature and number of moles constant"

Mathematical expression:

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

P₁ = Initial pressure

V₁ = initial volume

P₂ = final pressure

V₂ = final volume

Now we will put the values in formula,

P₁V₁ = P₂V₂

P₁ × 5.00 L = 0.720 atm × 12.0 L

P₁ = 8.64 atm. L/5 L

P₁ = 1.73 atm

Which of the following is not a property of a buffer solution? a) It is a mixture of a weak acid and its conjugate base. b) Resi
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

e) pH is independent of concentration.

Explanation:

a) It is a mixture of a weak acid and its conjugate base. TRUE. A buffer is defined as a mixture of a weak acid and its conjugate base or a weak base and its conjugate acid.

b) Resists pH changes because it reacts with added acid or base. TRUE. Thermodynamically, the reaction of added acid or base is faster with the buffer mixture than with H⁺ or OH⁻ ions of the solutions.

c) The maximum buffer capacity is at pH = pKa. TRUE. The buffer capacity is pka±1. For this, buffer capacity is maximum in pka.

d) pH is dependent on the solution ionic strength and temperature. TRUE. Ionic strength and temperature are factors that influence concentrations of ions in solutions as the H⁺ ion that is the responsible

e) pH is independent of concentration. FALSE. pH in a buffer depends completely of concentrations of the acid and its conjugate base or vice versa.

I hope it helps!
