There are more herbivores than carnivores in a food chain....

"In a food chain, energy is passed from one link to another.  When a herbivore eats, only a fraction of the energy becomes new body mass; the rest of the energy is lost as waste or used up by the herbivore itself to carry out its own life processes.

Therefore, a carnivore has to eat many herbivores to get sufficient energy to survive and grow."

Hopefully this helped :)

No there can't be, there have to be more herbivores than carnivores in a food chain or else the ecosystem wouldn't work, it's an energy pyramid.

A 2000-kg car moving with a speed of 20 m/s collides with and sticks to a 1500-kg car at rest at a stop sign. Show that because
amid [387]

Answer:

13.33m/s

Explanation:

Given data

m1= 2000kg

u1= 20m/s

m2= 1500kg

u2= 0m/s

v1= 10m/s

Required

The speed of the sticks

We know that  from the expression for the conservation of momentum

m1u1+m2u2= m1v1+m2v2

2000*20+1500*0=2000*10+1500*v2

40000=20000+1500v2

collect like terms

40000-20000= 1500v2

20000= 1500v2

v2= 20000/1500

v2= 13.33 m/s

Hence the velocity of the sticks is 13.33m/s

A car is travelling at a speed of 30 m/s. It decelerates at a rate of 12 m/s^2. Calculate the time taken for the car to come to
user100 [1]

Answer:

The answer to your question is: t = 2.5 s

Explanation:

Data

vo = 30 m/s

a = -12 m/s2

t = ?

vf = 0 m/s

Formula

vf = vo + at

Substitution

                              0 m/s = 30 + (-12)t

Solve it for t           -30 = -12t

                              t = -30 / -12

                              t =  30/12  = 15/6 = 5/2

                              t = 2.5 s

Answer:

The differences are:

Mass:

1) It is the total amount of matter contained in a body.

2) It's SI unit is kilogram (kg).

3) It's measured by using beam balance

Weight:

1) It is the force which pulls an object towards the center of the earth.

2) It's SI unit is newton(n).

3) It's measured by using spring balance.

A pair of adult nitwits sit balanced on a teeter totter type device. One of them, whose mass is 54.2 kg, is 1.20 m from the poin
andreev551 [17]

Answer:

The mass of the second person is 28.91 kg

Explanation:

Given;

mass of the first adult, m₁ = 54.2 kg

distance of the first adult from the point of balance, x = 1.20 m

mass of the second adult, = m₂

distance of the second adult from the point of balance, y = 2.25 m

Taking moment about the point of balance, we will have

m₁x = m₂y

54.2 x 1.2 = 2.25y

2.25y = 65.04

y = 65.04/2.25

y = 28.91 kg

Therefore, the mass of the second person is 28.91 kg

One system consists of two like charges (q1 and q2) separated by a distance r. A second system consists of two charges that are
olganol [36]

fyt as per the question the magnitude of two like charges are given as q1 and q2.the separation distance is given as r unit.hence the potential energy is given as-P.E=+\frac{1}{4\pi\epsilon} \frac{q1*q2}{r^2}

here the potential energy is positive which means the force between  two charges is repulsive.the potential energy is maximum which indirectly denotes that the system is unstable.due to this repulsion the smaller charge may accelerate.

coming to the same charges of opposite nature i.e unlike charges-here the magnitude of charges are same and separation distance is also are,so the potential energy will be given as-P.E=-\frac{1}{4\pi\epsilon}\frac{q1*q2}{r^2}

here the potential  energy is negative .so the system of two charges are attracted by each other.
