Average velocity  =  (displacement) / (total time)

Displacement = distance and direction between
                             the starting point and the end point

The car travels 90 meters north, then 40 meters south.
So it ends up 50 meters north of where it began.

Displacement = 50 meters north
Total time  =  (15 + 5) = 20 seconds

Average velocity = (50 meters north) / (20 seconds)

                             =  2.5 m/s north

6.6 kg block initially at rest is pulled to theright along a horizontal, frictionless surfaceby a constant, horizontal force of
neonofarm [45]

Answer:

v = 3.04 m/s

Explanation:

given,

mass of the block, M = 6.6 Kg

horizontal force, F = 12.2 N

distance, L = 2.5 m

initial speed  = 0 m/s

speed of the block,v = ?

we now

Work done is equal to change in Kinetic energy.

Work done = Force x displacement

W = Δ K E

Δ K E = Force x displacement

\dfrac{1}{2}mv^2 - \dfrac{1}{2}mu^2= F .s

\dfrac{1}{2}\times 6.6 \times v^2 - 0= 12.2\times 2.5

 3.3 v² = 30.5

     v² = 9.242

      v = 3.04 m/s

speed of the block is equal to 3.04 m/s

An inductor is connected in series to a fully charged capacitor. Which of the following statements are true? Check all that appl
Luba_88 [7]

Answer:

As the capacitor is discharging, the current is increasing

Explanation:

Lets take

C= Capacitance

L=Inductance

V=Voltage

I= Current

The total energy E given as

E=\dfrac{IL^2}{2}+\dfrac{CV^2}{2}

We know that total energy E is conserved so when electric energy 1/2 CV² decreases then magnetic energy 1/2 IL²  will increases.

It means that when charge on the capacitor decreases then the current will increase.

As the capacitor is discharging, the current is increasing

How much displacement will a spring with a constant of 120N / m achieve if it is stretched by a force of 60N?
Andrew [12]

Answer:

Explanation:

There's a formula for this:

F = k*displacement

F being force, k being the spring constant, and displacement being the change in x

We are given the force and the spring constant, so this is essentially isolating the Δx term. Do 60N/120N per meter. The newtons cancel out and you get a final answer of Δx = 0.5 meters
