Average velocity  =  (displacement) / (total time)

Displacement = distance and direction between
                             the starting point and the end point

The car travels 90 meters north, then 40 meters south.
So it ends up 50 meters north of where it began.

Displacement = 50 meters north
Total time  =  (15 + 5) = 20 seconds

Average velocity = (50 meters north) / (20 seconds)

                             =  2.5 m/s north

To form a negative ion, an atom will give up an electron to gain stability <br><br> True or False?
Mumz [18]
It is a completely false statement that to form a negative ion, an atom will <span>give up an electron to gain stability. The correct option among all the options that are given in the question is the second option. Negative ion has more electrons and so it would be wrong to say that it will give up an electron. I hope the answer has helped you.

In an incompressible three-dimensional flow field, the velocity components are given by u = ax + byz; υ = cy + dxz. Determine th
Ksivusya [100]

An incompressible flow field F in a 3D cartesian grid with components u,v,w:

F = u + v + w

where u,v,w are functions of x,y,z

Must satisfy:

∇·F = du/dx + dv/dy + dw/dz = 0

We have a field F defined:

F = u+v+w, u = ax+byz, v = cy+dxz

du/dx = a, dv/dy = c

Recall ∇·F = 0:

∇·F = du/dx + dv/dy + dw/dz = 0

a + c + dw/dz = 0

dw/dz = -a-c

Solve for w by separation of variables:

w = ∫(-a-c)dz

w = -az - cz + f(x,y)

f(x,y) is some undetermined function of x and y

The question states that w is not a function of x and y, therefore f(x,y) = 0...

w = -az - cz

a 4kg box is resting on top of a shelf that is 2m high, what is the boxs gravitational potential relative to the floor
Aloiza [94]

Answer:

80 J

Explanation:

PE = mgh

PE = (4 kg)(9.8 m/s^2)(2 m)

PE = 78.4 J and with sig figs, it would be 80 J
