A car travels 90 meters north in 15 seconds. Then turns around and travels at 40 meters south in 5.0 seconds. what is the averag

Average velocity = (displacement) / (total time)

Displacement = distance and direction between
                             the starting point and the end point

The car travels 90 meters north, then 40 meters south.
So it ends up 50 meters north of where it began.

Displacement = 50 meters north
Total time  =  (15 + 5) = 20 seconds

Average velocity = (50 meters north) / (20 seconds)

                             =  2.5 m/s north

Vector ~A has a magnitude of 29 units and points in the positive y-direction. When vector ~B is added to ~A, the resultant vecto
timurjin [86]

Answer:

The magnitude of vector B is 43 units and it points in the negative y-direction.

Explanation:

Resultant of vectors = vector sum of all the vectors

Vector A = 29j

Vector B = ?

Resultant of vector A and B = R = -14j

R = A + B

-14j = 29j + B

B = -14j - 29j = - 43j

Hence, the magnitude of vector B is 43 units and it points in the negative y-direction.

An object traveling at 1.5 rad
Veronika [31]

The object's final velocity, given the data is 10.5 rad/s

What is acceleration?

This is defined as the rate of change of velocity which time. It is expressed as

a = (v – u) / t

Where

  • a is the acceleration
  • v is the final velocity
  • u is the initial velocity
  • t is the time

How to determine the final velocity

The following data were obtained from the question

  • Initial velocity (u) = 1.5 rad/s
  • Acceleration (a) = 0.75 rad/s²
  • Time (t) = 12 s
  • Final velocity (v) = ?

The final velocity can be obtained as follow:

a = (v – u) / t

0.75 = (v – 1.5) / 12

Cross multiply

v – 1.5 = 0.75 × 12

v – 1.5 = 9

Collect like terms

v = 9 + 1.5

v = 10.5 rad/s

Thus, the final velocity of the object is 10.5 rad/s

The average density of the body of a fish is 1080 kg/m3. To keep from sinking, the fish increases its volumeby inflating an inte
Dimas [21]

Answer:

f = 8 %

Explanation:

given,

density of body of fish = 1080 kg/m³

density of air = 1.2 Kg/m³

density of water = 1000 kg/m²

to protect the fish from sinking volume should increased by the factor f

density of fish + density of water x increase factor = volume changes in water

1080 +f x 1.2 =(1 + f ) x 1000

1080 + f x 1.2 = 1000 + 1000 f

998.8 f = 80

f = 0.0800

f = 8 %

the volume increase factor of fish will be equal to f = 8 %
