Answer:

The answer to your question is given below

Explanation:

1. Data obtained from the question include:

Hydrogen ion concentration, [H+] = 1x10^-9M

pH =..?

pH = - log [H+]

pH = - log 1x10^-9

pH = 9

2. Data obtained from the question include:

pOH = 3

pH =.?

Recall:

pH + pOH = 14

pH + 3 = 14

Collect like terms

pH = 14 - 3

pH = 11

3. Data obtained from the question include:

Hydroxide ion concentration, [OH-] = 1x10^-2M

pH =..?

First, we shall determine the pOH. This is illustrated below

pOH = - Log [OH-]

pOH = - Log 1x10^-2

pOH = 2

Finally, we can obtain the pH as follow:

pH + pOH = 14

pOH = 2

pH + 2 = 14

Collect like terms

pH = 14 - 2

pH = 12

4. Data obtained from the question include:

pOH = 7

pH =.?

Recall:

pH + pOH = 14

pH + 7 = 14

Collect like terms

pH = 14 - 7

pH = 7

What is an ionic bond?
quester [9]

Answer:

D = A bond resulting from the transfer of one or more electrons.

Explanation:

Ionic bond:

It is the bond which is formed by the transfer of electron from one atom to the atom of another element.

Explanation:

Both bonded atoms have very large electronegativity difference. The atom with large electronegativity value accept the electron from other with smaller value of electronegativity.

For example:

Sodium chloride is ionic compound. The electronegativity of chlorine is 3.16 and for sodium is 0.93. There is large difference is present. That's why electron from sodium is transfer to the chlorine. Sodium becomes positive and chlorine becomes negative ion.

while by sharing of electrons covalent bond is formed.

Covalent bond:

It is formed by the sharing of electron pair between bonded atoms.

The atom with larger electronegativity attract the electron pair more towards it self and becomes partial negative while the other atom becomes partial positive.

For example:

In water the electronegativity of oxygen is 3.44 and hydrogen is 2.2. That's why electron pair attracted more towards oxygen, thus oxygen becomes partial negative and hydrogen becomes partial negative.

Record the volume of solution that will be delivered from the pipet pictures below in units of mL
zloy xaker [14]

Answer:

2a. 3mL.

2b. 10mL.

3. 38°C.

Explanation:

2a. We read the volume under the meniscus i.e under the curve.

The volume of the solution is 3mL.

2b. The volume of the pipette 10mL and the solution is at the calibration mark. Therefore, the volume of the solution is 10mL.

3. From the diagram given, we can see that 1 line represents 1 unit.

Now a careful look at the picture shows that the temperature is 38°C.

a paint company ants totest wether a new additive will make thier paint resist fading. Which test would include andan acceptable
luda_lava [24]
There are a few ways to do this. The best way I can think of is to start out the paint with no additives and have that as a control. You can test that on whatever your painting or do it in a lab with heat lamps and lights if that is a possible option. However you decide to do the testing, after starting with the control test, add different additives and see which ones fades less the original without any additives. This is the best scenario for a simple yet informative test.

Hope that helps!
