Answer:

Light or visible light is electromagnetic radiation within the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that can be perceived by the human eye. Visible light is usually defined as having wavelengths in the range of 400–700 nm, or 4.00 × 10⁻⁷ to 7.00 × 10⁻⁷ m, between the infrared and the ultraviolet.

Explanation:

This is one type of light.

Does pressure change faster as you move horizontally or vertically? explain reasoning
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

Vertically

Explanation:

Pressure changes faster as we move vertically because as we go to the height from the surface of the earth. The density of air becomes lesser in comparison with the surface of the earth. So, as we move vertically pressure moves faster than in comparison with the vertical movement.

The best example that describes the above statement is the hill station.

Arightward force of 302 N is applied to a 28.6-kg crate to accelerate it across the floor. What will its acceleration be?
Musya8 [376]

Answer:

a \approx 10.6 m/s²

Explanation:

Since F = ma (Force = mass * acceleration), acceleration would be...

a = F/m

a = 302 N/28.6

a \approx 10.6 m/s²

A car of weight 300N moved through a distance of 10m when pushed by 3 students
Sati [7]

The work done by the three students is 3,000 J.

The energy transferred in the process is 3,000 J.

<h3>What is work done?</h3>
  • Work done is the product of force and distance moved by the object.

W = Fd

The work done by the three students is calculated as follows;

W = 300 x 10

W = 3,000 J

<h3>What is energy transfer?</h3>
  • This is means by which energy is converted from one form to another.

The energy transferred in the process is determined by work energy theorem.

E = W

E = 3,000 J

In order to open the clam it catches, a seagull will drop the clam repeatedly onto a hard surface from high in the air until the
Vedmedyk [2.9K]

Answer:

2.2 s

Explanation:

Hi!

Let's consider the origin of the coordinate system at the ground, and consider that the clam starts with zero velocity, the equation of motion of the clam is given by

x(t) = 23.1 m - \frac{1}{2}(9.8 m/s^2) t^2

We are looking for a time t for which x(t) = 0

0 = 23.1 m - (4.9 m/s^2) t^2

Solving for t:

t = \sqrt{\frac{23.1}{4.9}} s = 2.17124 s

Rounding at the first decimal:

t = 2.2 s

Two uniform, solid cylinders of radius R and total mass M are connected along their common axis by a short, light rod and rest o
sveta [45]

Explanation:

A) To prove the motion of the center of mass of the cylinders is simple harmonic:

System diagram for given situation is shown in attached Fig. 1

We can prove the motion of the center of mass of the cylinders is simple harmonic if

a_{x} = -\omega^{2}  x

where aₓ is acceleration when attached cylinders move in horizontal direction:

<h3>PROOF:</h3>

rotational inertia for cylinders  is given as:

                                  I=\frac{1}{2}MR^{2} -----(1)

Newton's second law for angular motion is:

                                             ∑τ = Iα ------(2)

For linear motion in horizontal direction it is:

                                             ∑Fₓ = Maₓ ------ (3)

By definition of torque:

                                               τ  = RF --------(4)

Put (4) and (1) in (2)

                                       RF=\frac{1}{2}MR^{2}\alpha

                                       RF=\frac{1}{2}MR^{2}\alpha

from Fig 3 it can be seen that fs is force by which the cylinders roll without slipping as they oscillate

So above equation becomes

                                   f_{s}=\frac{1}{2}MR\alpha------ (5)

As angular acceleration is related to linear by:

                                          a= R\alpha

Eq (5) becomes

                                    f_{s}=\frac{1}{2}Ma_{x}---- (6)

aₓ shows displacement in horizontal direction

From (3)

                                              ∑Fₓ = Maₓ

Fₓ is sum of fs and restoring force that spring exerts:

                                  \sum F_{x} = f_{s} - kx ----(7)

Put (7) in (3)

                                  f_{s} - kx  = Ma_{x}[/tex] -----(8)

Using (6) in (8)

                               \frac{1}{2}Ma_{x} - kx =Ma_{x}

                                     a_{x} = \frac{2k}{3M} x --- (9)

For spring mass system

                                  a= -\omega^{2} x ----- (10)

Equating (9) and (10)

                                  \omega^{2} = \frac{2k}{3M}

\omega = \sqrt{ \frac{2k}{3M}}

then (9) becomes

                                a_{x} = - \omega^{2}x

(The minus sign says that x and  aₓ  have opposite directions as shown in fig 3)

This proves that the motion of the center of mass of the cylinders is simple harmonic.

<h3 /><h3>B) Time Period</h3>

Time period is related to angular frequency as:

                                   T=\frac{2\pi }{\omega}

                                  T = 2\pi \sqrt{\frac{3M}{2k}
